UPDATED FOR LATEST PATCH, STILL COOKING

I want to shoot all the things all the time every time, so let's get this laser light show started.

TALENTS

Survivalist is going to keep you incredibly ammo efficient if you focus your guns on the big boys that need dying real quick. You are rewarded by being able to shoot a horde before they become a melee range problem (or maybe they are and you need to click some heads for toughness). You can also take Fire Team if there's another vet in your team with survivalist since it doesn't stack. Grenade Tinkerer or Covering Fire are better picks than the ones on top of survivalist anyway, so you might want to take fire team regardless.

Voice of Command is a phenomenal tool for those moments where you feel the need to pray harder than the Zealots for survival. Instant toughness, pushes everyone in front of you, good stuff. Executioner's Stance is going to work as well if you can manage not getting punched in the jewels.

Shock trooper is what makes this build work. We want to shoot all the time and the best way to do that is with as much free ammo as we can squeeze out. Set your gun to crit as often as possible, and your battery packs will never drain. Ever. EVER
TO CONSIDER: You need to take Fully Loaded to grab Superiority Complex. This paired with Survivalist means you get way too much ammo, or you can shoot at even MORE hordes!

Tactical Awareness and Iron Will are going to add more much needed tankiness to your squishy self. More shouts means more toughness, toughness damage reduction means less need to yell.

Focus Target is your other talent that makes this build work. Sure, you can probably run without a keystone and dump those points elsewhere, but t his is a pseuto-support build! Highlight the heretics that need dying yesterday and watch them melt from how loud you yell their name. Since the latest talent tree rework, you now have enough points to take everything here too! Make em hurt hard, and make their pain rejuvenate and invigorate your team!

GUN (and melee I guess)

Most lasguns will suffice so take your favourite.

Kantrael MG IV My Beloved. Quick to tap and plenty hurtful, with a large magazine and reserve to boot. Kantrael MG Ia will get you going too, MG XII is too slow going for our purposes.

Hellbore's are clunky with the slow equip speed and due to fire rates the Mk II will work best.

Recon would be absolutely ideal were it not for the nerfs to how it crits, RIP to the patch 13 king.

Melee is (mostly) entirely up to preference. I like my Sapper Shovel for extreme can opening. Flip it to minecraft mode and drop a full tag on a crusher/mauler/mutant and they're gonna melt real quick. Carapace damage fulfils its role as armor-be-gone, then take Unarmored for a boost to horde clearing or Unyielding to double down on can opening. At the end of the day, take whatever works best for you in horde clearing and anti-carapace.

You can even take a power sword, but I will judge you for it.

CURIOS

Stamina because sprinting and blocking are nice.

Toughness because we're not defaulted at 200 anymore.

Health because patch 15 took quite a bit of it away. In my experimenting one toughness and health are a good balance.

Others are to preference. I put down more toughness because it's always appreciated, and more dockets so Hadron can give me enough bricks to make a fortress worthy of the Imperial Fists.

THIS IS HOW WE DO IT

Shoot the horde. I know you probably came from Vermintide and have melee built into your brain or you've been carrying previous games with a melee vet build, but seriously. Shoot the horde. Aim down sights, put the little dot that's inside the circle over their rotten faces, and Shoot the horde. You have a fast-firing lasgun that crits for insane damage on headshots. You will only not instakill a poxwalker if you get them in the chest and even then there are other bonuses in play that might still knock them on their ass. Shoot the horde until they get too close, then beat the handful of survives to death with your chosen smacking stick if any remain. If you see an elite/Special, Tag and shoot them. You are a vet, all your other bonuses come from killing these losers. Tag them to get those damage buffs, and shoot them to let Big E judge them. If they have carapace, Minecraft it. Flip the switch from grave making to grave filling and delete them one at a time. Situation's gone FUBAR? Scream and run away, and once you've made space go back to Shooting the horde.
