This is very much a work-in-progress sort of build, aimed for a melee heavy playstyle for the Veteran focused towards dealing with the heavy enemies.
A very important combo for this build is charging your sword, blocking, then pushing, then stabbing (this happens if you keep holding your attack button while pushing) into a light attack which should be an overhead one. This can basically two-shot crushers and maulers if you land both hits on the head.
As for the grenade, you can swap the Frag for the Krak one, it shouldn't matter in terms of talent points.
As for the playstyle, stick close to your team and make good use of your combat ability. For the Emperor will buff you and your teammates within coherency with 10% melee & ranged damage and give everyone +50 toughness on top of their max toughness, while also knocking back a bit area of enemies around you.
For your Mk VI Power Sword, you absolutely need Power Cycler - you can experiment with the second blessing. As for the perks, damage against carapace enemies is mandatory, and you can have the second one as either damage against maniacs, unyielding or flak enemies, depending on what you feel you're missing.
You can experiment with the ranged weapon, but for myself the Mk XII Lasgun is a good sweet spot if you can hit enemy heads, especially if you can build it as shown above.
Finally, for the curios, have at least two of them to give you extra toughness for the blessing. If you are confident and don't want to take an extra wound, you can swap that for Stamina as the push and stab part of your combo eats quite a bit of stamina - alternatively you can put on more toughness. For the curio perks, have resistance against gunner damage on all three of them, and then you can experiment with the two remaining perks - you could try something like block efficiency and stamina, toughness and toughness regeneration, or a mix of the above.
