This is the Definitive Veteran Support Imperial Commissar Build.
Disclaimer - If you are playing with allies worth standing shoulder-to-shoulder with, you may never need "Target Down!" or "Redirect Fire!" If your teammates are complete dogshit then they will need all the support you can possibly muster out of this build. In the case that you are playing with worthy allies, "Keep Their Heads Down!" and "Competitive Urge" should be taken instead of "Target Down!" and "Redirect Fire!"
TD and RF are dependant on the number of Focus stacks...so if you can say "I will only ping at 8 stacks" then sure, they have good value. Personally, I use my ping frequently to maximazie time to kill on targets that are focusing me, such as ragers or rogue crushers that I need to eliminate in a solo clutch situation.
The power sword roll is a throw-up between Flak and Carapace (your preference) + Maniacs and the rest as shown above. The Cadia Mk IV Assault Chainsword is another definitive Commissar melee choice if you do not have the suggested power sword.
Currently, the Accatran MG Mk II Heavy Laspistol is the definitive weapon of choice for any wannabe Commissar. Until the bolt pistol or plasma pistol is added to the game.
I have already tested this version of the build in Auric Maelstrom Damnation, I have had rather insane success with this build at the highest difficulty with worthy allies. Take my word for it when I say, it is very hard to fail a mission when you play this role as intended with good teammates.
The playstyle is rather straightforward, spam F for ability when you get a wave of trash mobs, boss spawns, whenever the team engages shooter mobs and time it for ally pickups in range. Hoard clear with the power sword, and use Krak grenades on anything you want to delete with ease, specifically Crushers. The pistol is for handling specials and disablers and any shooter begging to die at range. Pretty simple.
My builds are 100% tested in Auric Maelstrom Damnation with my personal team of allies who are all exceptionally invested with time in the game.
