This is not a perfectly optimised build. If you want to meta chase or know the very best builds for Auric, then there are lots of youtubers that can help you. 

 

Honestly, I just picked things that were in line of "what would a guardsman be using and what is fun and satisfying to use." This is achieved in this build This is a deal with all the ranged threats, and help elsewhere, backline kinda build. Your job is to clear out ranged, snipers, and gunners, while also being able to deal with hordes (with your shovel) and crushers / bosses / maulers (with krak grenades and shovel alt) when they arrive. 

 

  • USE THE FULL AUTO MOD - https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/87 
  • All the lasguns are good but the basic IA lasgun is imo the best middle-ground at dealing with everything, but especially ragers and maulers if you weakspot hit them, while being much faster and versatile than the helbores. This build also stacks a bunch of talents so you barely ever need ammo and your ogryn / autogun vet buddy can have most of them. 
  • Shout is 10x better in Auric than either Exe stance or Cloak. If you need Exe stance to see enemies, then skill issue tbh and it waaaaaaay more than overcomes the extra damage exe stance gives you
  • Tactical Awareness gives you lots of uptime; this and Confirmed Kill are in my opinion the key to any good lasgun build.
  • Suppression immunity and lots of toughness regen on weakspot and specialist kills. Good for clearing rooms full of Gunners, Snipers and ranged. Suppression immunity is REALLY helpful given how badly Gunners stun-lock you now.
  • The shovel is great for staggers and horde clears on heavy swings. Alt-attack light swing will 1-hit most specials and two heavy-alts will kill a crusher with 75+ damage stat. 
  • Having extra powerful, regenerating, +ammo crate krak grenades is great for those "oh shit 10 crushers" and boss moments.
