I've found a lot of success with this hard hitting build. Then interplay of swapping between the plasma gun and the power sword is quite potent. I hardly ever charge the plasma gun and prefer to quick fire it. Agile engagement gives you a 25% damage stack on the opposite weapon type and plays extremely well with Weapon Specialist. With Always Prepared, a full stack will fill up a third of your magazine which can go very far with the Plasma Gun. Longshot gives you a healthy bonus to ... Longshots. Voice of command gives you a much needed respite when you take toughness damage and voice of command makes it that much better; also close quarter killzone also nets you 15% close range damage bonus, too. Tactical Awareness plays very well here as the plasma gun is a specialist killer.

I prefer the power sword with power cycler and slaugterer to handle hordes, as well as shredder nades. One shot from the Plasma Gun will delete any basic enemy and get you that 25% bonus to damage and "max" stacks in Weapon Specialist.

1% Ammo Back is preferred here, you won't need many ammo packs. If you really don't care for replenishing nades, field improvisation makes sense.

Only drawback I can see here is if you get overwhelmed which is why I prefer stamina buffs in my curios and power sword. Also I like sprint efficiency bonuses as to cut down how badly my stamina is sapped. This insures you can run into the fray and shove and block without much stamina worries.
