The Purgtus staff is your primary source for applying DOT effects and will be the core to this build.
The MK V Duelling Sword has the furthest dodge distance of all the Duelling swords and thats its primary use for this build. the sword is used as a means to block incoming damage and to dodge far enough out of engagement to be able to go back to your staff. Must have "Uncanny Strike" as it lets you effectively fight Crushers and Maulers.
Brain Rupture will be used as a elite sniper. using it to kill hard to kill elites and annoying specials. with perilous combustion, Elites that die to BR will set all targets around them on soulblaze, it is very handy for group of GUNNERS because the more you kill the more of them get soulblaze applied and will die passively. 2-3 BR gunners can kill 10 others around them without any work.
The Curios are up to preference. I like 1 wound and 2 +3 Stamina but that's just me. Must have 4% Ability recharge though.
I will be going over the steps of when and where to use what tool in your roster.
"Roaming" - when roaming around the map and not much is going on. Your main job is staying in the backlines is using Brain Rupture to kill ELITES and SPECIALS and get your stacks of Warp Syphon up.
"Ambush/Horde" - When the sound cue for a HORDE or AMBUSH is sounded, Swap to the PURGATUS staff and assume a more offensive posture in the group. You only want to use the purgatus staff here. the staff has high stager and acts like a pseudo melee weapon. Dodge dance your way around targets and pour as much SOULBLAZE into everything and play keep away. once something has 6 stacks of soulblaze the will die and you just need to play keep away. Swap to your Sword to block or dodge further away from threats but dont use it to horde clear. Use BRAIN RUPTUR on Crushers or Bullwarks.
"Combat Ability" - at 90%+ peril you will hit everything with 6 stacks or soul blaze. it is enough to kill groups of shooters and obliterates hordes. Use this as much as you can in a horde engagement. you can use it to kill enemies in one direction while you turn to focus the other direction with your staff. VERY HIGH CC POTENTIAL! The Soul Blaze works through walls to, so don't be afraid to shoot it through a wall to get a dog off a teammate or assist them with DOT.
"Kiteing" - Kite your targets by dodging backwards and always be applying soulblaze. you just need to play keep away, everything with the soulblaze WILL eventually die. you just need to play keep away as their health is chunked away.
"Warp Syphon" - Warp Syphon is used to reduce your ability cooldown and give unlimited toughness. your toughness is already insane with all the "toughness on peril" nodes at the start of the tree but with "Essance Harvest" every time you get a warp charge you get +30 toughness and because youre getting so many as you blast your staff into a horde you basically become invincible. Plus the more charges when you use your ability, the faster you get it back.

-Use Duelling Sword as a distance creator and defensive tool

-Your main damage source is DOT so get good at dodging and waiting for everything to die
