--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Intro:

This is the "typical" Heavy Hitter + Bull Rush (Indomitable) Ogryn build.

The Focus of this build is to dominate everything in melee and can switch slightly between clearing Hordes/Elites and killing Bosses/Crushers fast depending on how you set up your weapons.

In this guide I will explain all weapon setups and how to approach each playstyle.

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Main Synergies:

  • Bleed
    • Pulverize: Bull Rush applies bleed on enemies
    • Batter: Heavy Hits apply bleed on enemies
    • Delight of Destruction: Up to 60% Damage reduction if there are bleeding enemies in melee range
  • Toughness
    • Stomping Boots: +10% Toughness for each enemy hit by Bull-rush (indomitable)
    • The Best Defense: +25% toughness on hitting 3+ enemies with a Heavy-Hit
    • Smash'em: +25% toughness on Single Target Heavy-Hit
    • Lynchpin: +50% toughness replenishment while in Coherency
    • Nodes: 20% Toughness Damage Reduction
    • Nodes: +40 Toughness
  • Damage
    • Heavy Hitter: +25% Heavy Hit Damage
    • Soften Them Up: +15% Damage to enemies that you damaged
    • Hard Knocks: up to +25% Heavy Hit Damage if you stagger many enemies or big enemies
    • Furious: +2.5% damage for each enemy hit by your Heavy Attacks
    • Nodes: +15% Heavy Melee Damage
    • Nodes: +5% Melee Damage
    • Nodes: +5% Rending
    • Dominate: +15% Rending for 10s when  you kill an Elite
    • Reloaded and Ready: +12% ranged damage when you reload your ranged weapon
  • Utility
    • Indomitable:
      - Rush in a straight line knocking everything (except bosses) down
      - Gain +25% Attack Speed for 5s
      - Gain +25% Movement Speed for 5s
    • Get Stuck in: You and your team become immune to stagger/suppression for 5s when you use Indomitable
    • Bruiser: For each killed Elite your Combat Ability CD is reduced by 5%
    • Frag Bomb: Mini "nuke" grenade that one-shots everything except Crushers / Maulers / Bosses

Important Tips:

  1. How rending Works:
    https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/patch-13-class-overhaul-part-1/83184
    • Rending doesn't do anything on Unarmored and Infested. It works on everything else.
    • Each weapon does X% damage on each armor type so you take rending and add it straight on that (X% + Rending) to see how much damage you will now do on that armor type till you reach 100% damage done.
    • Above 100% damage done every 4% extra rending gives your weapon +1% damage over that armor type
    • If you want to check how much X% damage your weapon does against an armor type:
      • Go to Inspect Weapon -> Damage Profile
      • Take the armor type damage and divide it by the unarmored damage
      • The percentage you found is the X% of damage this weapon does towards this specific armor type.
      • For example, 20 Carapace Damage and 100 Unarmored Damage means your weapon does 20/100 = 20% damage to Carapace
      • if you add +80% Rending you can now do 100% damage to Carapace = As much as you do to Unarmored
      • if you add +100% Rending you have 20% Base + 100% Rending = 100% Damage + 20%/4 Damage (1/4th for being over the 100% cap) = 105% Damage
  2. Brittleness & Difference with Rending:
    - Brittleness works exactly the same way with Rending
    - The only difference is that Rending is a Buff on YOU while Brittleness is a Debuff on the ENEMY
    - Max Brittleness = 40%
  3. Indomitable + Pulverize:
    - Pulverize will apply 5 stacks of bleed to anything you touch while bull rushing
    - You can press "Right Click" to interrupt your Indomitable
    - When Indomitable Stops any target standing right on top of you will receive 10 instead of 5 Bleed Stacks
  4. Frag Bomb:
    1. Never use Frag Bomb on Crushers (unless you're about to die)
    2. Never use Frag Bomb on Maulers (unless you're about to die)
    3. Never use Frag Bomb on Bosses (unless you're about to die)
    4. Preferably use on Ragers / Shotgunners
    5. Preferably use on 8-10 Elites & Specials (or more)
  5. Reloaded and Ready:
    - This synergizes extremely well with weapon that load often (Kickback / Rumbler / Gauntlet)
    - Can work fine with Ripper Gun
    - Try avoiding Heavy Stubber

Best Melee Weapons / How to Build & Play them

  • Bully Clubs
    1. There are 2 ways to build bully clubs:
      1. Haymaker + Thrust:
This combination lets you kill hordes fast (haymaker) and 1-shot any elite or special (thrust)
It relies more on Raw damage rather than Bleed Damage.

        - Haymaker is OP (20% Chance to 1-shot anything that's not a boss or an ogryn)
        - You no longer drop the stacks if you miss an attack
        - Stacks now drop one by one if you dont hit anything for a while (instead of losing all the stacks)

        - Thrust is better than "Crunch!" talent (+40% damage for fully charged Heavy Melee hits)
        - Thrust will help you deal with Carapace & Unyielding
        - Don't charge Thrust for anything that's not Carapace or Unyielding

      2. Skullcrusher + Thunderous:
This combination will do maximum bleed damage to everything.
Yes, both blessings benefit bleed damage both by buffing it and increasing its effect against armored enemies

        - SkullCrusher: Target takes +40% damage (additive / before armor reductions) by you
        - Skullcrusher works for bleed damage too
        - Thunderous: +20% Brittleness on target per hit
        - Thunderous removes damage reduction Bleed receives for armored enemies
    2. Perks:
      1. For Haymaker + Thrust combo:
        - No need to use Flak / Maniac. Those are human sized enemies and can proc Haymaker
        - Use Carapace + Unyielding to further buff "Thrust" heavy hits
      2. For Skullcrasher + Thunderous combo:
        - Preferably: Carapace + Unyielding
        - Alternatively: Maniac / Flak
    3. Marks:
      1. Bully Club Mk IIIb:
        - Heavy Side Sweeps
        - Best Unyielding Damage
        - Best for Skullcrusher + Thunderous combo
      2. Bully Club Mk I:
        - Heavy 1 = Overhead
        - Heavy 2 = Side Sweep
        - Best for Haymaker + Thrust combo

  • Shovels
