This build is meant to be as useful as possible for your team, providing aura talents, aura toughness regeneration, or aura grenade regeneration. Field improvisation is one of the best talents to help your team for all that it implies, but there are more good talents, demolition team is really good in high difficulties that's why I don't use the demolition stockpile talent, it's the same but better.
I carry the plama because when an ally is downed you need to make room to revive them in the middle of the horde, and if you don't have your ult this is difficult sometimes, but with the plasma it's like driving over them with a tractor.
Lastly "focus Target!" is an incredible talent, more damage against the marked enemy and if he dies you give 12% damage to your team if he had all the stacks and 40 hardness with all the stacks, what more can you ask for a support?
