You will use the staff to eliminate elites from a distance, as well as stop dogs and crushers as well as cause damage.
Smite
You will support your team in hordes of heretics when one begins, so your team can clear the horde without so much effort.
Ability
try to use the ability when you have the horde in front of you to apply soulblaze then switch to smite to inflict AoE damage but as long as you have full warp charges in total there are 6.
