Description
Overview
A veteran all-rounder build that performs against every enemy type, is tough to down, supports team and has insane damage output.
Melee
This vet can thrive in melee combat and has ways of navigating sticky situations with combat ability usage.
- Cadia Chain-sword coupled with Rampage and Bloodletter can shred through the hordes and even beat Ragers in melee. Use special for shredding maulers in melee.
- Along the right side of skill tree we have melee buffs in attack speed and melee damage along with finesse bonus which are critical to melee performance of this build.
- Weapons Specialist coupled with Agile Engagement create powerful bursts of OP melee performance on weapon switch.
- Combat ability grants net +25% damage output to veteran useful in pushing back and chopping heavies.
Ranged
This vet can clear packs of gunners, maniacs as well as elites and bosses with ease due to synergies of Columnus auto gun with skill tree.
- Using Columnus autogun with Dum-Dum and Fire-Frenzy, this weapon is very well balanced with strong damage output, very high rate of fire with quick ADS, reload and swap time. Repeated hit synergy is taken into account for blessings. Hipfire mode is also very effective especially in close quarters.
- Along left side of skill tree we have buffs in ranged damage, weak spot damage and ammo stash. I feel having excess ammo is essential so as to freely use the gun in this playstyle.
- Along the right we have Onslaught, Weapons specialist and Agile engagement which give a solid rending, rate of fire and damage boost, making it easy to melt even crushers in half a volley.
- Use combat ability to clear scatter horde while shooting priority targets and boost ranged damage by 10%, close ranged damage by 25%. This can be used to hipfire ragers and maulers.
Toughness and Damage Resistance
Along the center of the tree, we have solid DR buffs which make it hard for this vet to be downed:
- Close order drill and Iron Will can combined offer upto 83% stationary DR.
- This build packs decent toughness (~150) and health (~215) with 3 wounds.
- Use combat ability when in sticky situations to increase toughness to 150% and thereby have solid 50% DR by Iron Will.
- Quickly regain combat ability on specialist enemy kill.
Elites and Bosses:
Can be dealt with in either of ranged or melee ways both offer solid damage output, this build packs Krak grenades (with regen and damage boost) for deleting elites in clutch situations. I feel krak is better than frag as hordes can be dealt with easily it's better to have less crushers chasing you.
