The origin of this build is somewhat entertaining.  My first class was zealot, 2nd was vet and I finished up with Ogryn and Psyker. I found I kept trying out builds that involved a lot more frontline to them.  I'm just not cut out for ranged support.

This build does the opposite of what most psyker builds do, it maximizes the amount of time you keep your peril up and balances bonuses on when it comes down or is up.  You get toughness reduction when you're high and more damage as you get there and come down.

Melee: Any melee will do, but I enjoy the parry on the devil claw swords for times that I get cornered by ragers.  Choose something that you can horde clear/control with.

Ranged: I don't like staves with it because it throws my rhythm off.  Revolver is a better answer imo, it's quick to pull out and you can snipe specials with it pretty consistently.

Rhythm: when you're in protracted combat scenarios, your goal is to keep your peril at or as close to 100% as long as possible.  I generally like to have a crowd of things to dump my assail into to start, when I get back down to about 50%, I start SG.  I swap to melee/gun at this point and take advantage of the bonuses until peril is back down to about 20-50% and then I pull assail out and dump them again.  Maintain about 70% or just over that in peril, just swapping back and forth between gun/melee and assail until SG is a few seconds from over.  Wait until about 20% peril and activate SG again, rinse and repeat.

The strength in this build is always having something to offer at melee, mid, and long range that is buffed in one way or another by the other things you're doing.  It's a bit ADD as you're bouncing around on peril and equipment/abilities, but I've found it very satisfying and fun.

Optional points are a few places, polish as you wish.  I've run with a couple more invested in Disrupt Destiny and a couple away to get the coherency bonus, dealer's choice.
