The build is dedicated to my favorite Kantrael Infantry Lasgun. Altough it's often not easy to find a moment of peace to patiently aim and shoot, this build does its best to support precise shooting playstyle.

It excels at mid to long range combat and the primary focus is to deal with the ranged enemies and specials. But it's also very good at dealing with hordes and possesses tools to deal with any kind of situation.

However the playstyle is quite challenging and requires a lot of practice to perform well.

Skill tree choices:

  • Exhilirating Takedown over Confirmed Kill: Players in public party usually target elites first and I don't like to compete with them over killing blow to ensure toughness sustain. Exhilirating Takedown is more consistent and works against regular gunners as well. Also it works better if you're separated from the rest for whatever reason. Lack of the toughness regen from Confirmed Kill is solved with the toughness regeneration speed on Curios. Saying that Confirmed kill path also has its pros so it's more up to personal preference.
  • Shredder Frag Grenade: It's a primary solution against horders and bigger groups of enemies. Krag Grenade would be also nice to deal with the carapace armor units however it would probably force you to switch melee weapon to something more cleave oriented and thus sacrifice knife's mobility. I prefer to wipe out the crowd and pick the remaining tougher targets with the knife instead of doing it the other way around.
  • Fire Team: Kantrael Lasgun is an ammo efficient weapon and I barely ever run out of ammo so I took the Fire Team together with the all juicy grenade nodes along the way.
  • Infiltrate: While Voice of Command is a great choice and probably more versatile, I picked Infiltrate for several reasons:
    1. Low Profile: Your primary role in the team is to take care of all kind of range units, specials, ragers, etc. Low Profile allows you focus on a primary targets and don't be bother by some astray zombies.
    2. Inflitrate provides other utility such as fast repositioning, undisturbed completion of objectives, team revives, etc.
    3. Better fits the theme of the special force / sniper unit.
  • Deadshot: Power of the Kantael Lasgun heavily relies on critical hits. To counter its drawback, I advice to use 2 stamina curios.
  • Focus Target!: While Marksmen Focus has a higher damage potential I'm not sure it's actually needed and worth the restrictive playstyle. Focus Target! helps the whole party to deal more damage and only requires you to mark priority target which you should do anyway. On top of that Target Down! helps the whole party with the toughness sustain and recovers stamina which is very useful to feed the Deadshot.
