The Agripinaa Braced Autogun
The Agripinaa (AKA space AK47) is a great all-rounder for a ranged focussed VET.
Why use this gun:
- It punches hard and penetrates soft targets once
- It staggers and suppresses hordes A LOT (can even make a group of dregs flinch with a long burst!)
- It has quick reload, decent clip size and good ammo efficiency
How to craft:
- Statwise go for stability, damage and stopping power.
- Perkwise go for +2 stamina (see why later) and whatever else (flak, unarmoured, etc).
- Blessingwise there aren't any that are particularly crucial.
Tips on firing:
- In hip fire, vertical recoil is most pronounced. In braced fire, horizontal recoil is most pronounced.
- For short range: you can reliably hit heads while hip firing and on the move.
- For medium/long ranges: ALWAYS aim for center mass (at upper chest) and BURST fire 2-4 rounds while braced (see later why). Going for headshots intentionally isn't reliable at longer distances.
The DEADSHOT talent
THE noteworthy thing to mention for this build is to use the DEADSHOT talent. It will offer increased Crit chance (+25%) and reduce spread while braced. You can sustain braced fire for almost a whole clip with the stamina boosting curios, perks and talents.
Braced fire with this talent becomes somewhat more precise than hip firing. You also get a minor zoom-in, a sizable increased Crit chance and visually better crosshair. It does take some time to setup braced and it reduces movement (kinda like ADSing). Thus, this then makes braced arguably better for medium/long ranges.
The ONSLAUGHT talent
A must, this significantly boosts AP dmg (up to triple dmg against carapace for everyone).
The SURVIALIST aura
With this you can be mostly well stocked with liberal ammo usage.
The VOICE OF COMMAND ability
Super useful for squad survivability and a game saver in many situations.
The FOCUS ON TARGET keystone
As a VET you will focus on Elites and Specialists, and this keystone boosts dmg and even restores stamina + toughnesss.
Final comments...
The Agripinaa absolutely shreds hordes and is fun to use on Damnation+.
The firing/aiming is tricky if you are used to the more accurate autoguns or lasguns with ADS. For medium/long distances, you should counterintuitively avoid aiming for the head, and instead mostly aim for the center mass in braced to reliably hit targets (the recoil will naturally go up and do headshots).
