Idea behind the build:

Plasma-Gun is overpowered right now.

It has insane Damage, Insane Cleave and Insane Penetration.

Therefore, this build has a pretty simple goal; Stack as many damage modifiers as possible to one-shot everything with Plasma gun.

Nothing sophisticated - Just pure devastation.

Ranged Weapon:

  • Plasmagun Mk II
    - Perks: Flak + Maniac
    - Blessings: Blaze Away + Gets Hot

 

Melee Weapon: 
- Literally any melee weapon you feel comfortable with
- Try to use a weapon that offers you Cleave and Mobility
- You want to stay on your ranged weapon almost at all times, thus, melee weapon is there to help you survive and that's it.

Some decent choices are:

  • Chain-Swords
  • Chain-Axes
  • Power-Swords
  • Shovels

 

Curios:
- Perk: +HP%
- Blessings: 

  • Stamina Regen
  • Combat Ability Cooldown Reduction
  • Anything that you feel you need the most (HP% / Toughness% / Block Efficiency %)

 

Stimms:

  1. Combat Stimm (Red)
  2. Concentration Stimm (Yellow)

Talents & Break-Points:

- Some people are saying Focus Target is useless because it doesn't hit any break points; I think break-points matter in Psychanium. In a real game you will often finish off damaged enemies, therefore, you should be thinking about DPS rather than "break-points". In any case, if you want to play without a Keystone be my guest.

 

Alternative Talent Options:
- Sacrifice "Redirect Fire" (keystone modifier) for one of the following

  • Field Improvisation: 
    - Your Medipack cleanses corruption & restores toughness. 
    - Your Ammo-crate restores Grenades.
  • Twinned Blast: 20% Chance to throw double Grenade (but only consume 1)
  • Born Leader: Share 15% of the toughness you generate with your Allies
  • Competitive Urge: 2.5% chance to deal +20% BASE damage for 8s
  • Target Down: Replenish 5% Toughness and 5% Stamina on Marked Enemy kill

Build Synergies:

 

 Toughness:

  • Catch a Breath: 5% Toughness per second if no enemies are near you (8 meters)
  • Confirmed Kill: 30% Toughness generated on Elite kill
  • Close Order Drill: 33% Toughness Damage Reduction (in coherency)
  • Iron Will: 50% Toughness Damage Reduction (while above 75% toughness)

Damage:

  • Longshot (Passive): +20% BASE Damage the further you are from an enemy
  • Kill-zone (Passive): +15% BASE Ranged Damage if no enemies nearby (8 meters)
  • For the Emperor (Passive): +10% BASE Damage on Combat Ability Activation
  • Superiority Complex (Passive): +15% BASE Damage on Elites
  • Bring it Down (Passive): +20% Damage to Ogryns and Monstrosities
  • Precision Strikes (Passive): +30% Weakspot Damage (works with melee weapons too)
  • Talent Nodes (Passive): +10% Ranged Damage
  • Focus Target (Keystone): Up to +32% Damage (keystone - 8 stacks)
  • Redirect Damage (Keystone): Up to +12% Damage for you and your allies (keystone - 8 stacks)
  • Executioner's Stance (Combat Ability): +25% Damage & Weakspot Damage

Tips:

  • Quick Reload
    • Plasma-Gun reload animation consists of 3 phases;
      - Phase 1: Remove Used Canister
      - Phase 2: Attach New Canister
      - Phase 3: Twist the switch on top of the weapon.
      You can quick reload plasma-gun by following the steps below:
      1. During "Phase 1" animation, as soon as the used canister is detached press "sprint" and move a tiny bit to skip the animation.
      2. During "Phase 2" animation, as soon as the new canister is attached press "sprint" and move a tiny bit to skip the animation.
      3. During "Phase 3" animation, as soon as the switch is turned press "sprint" and move a tiny bit to skip the animation.
      4. You can start firing again.
  • Stimms
    - Best stimm to carry is Combat Stimm (Red). Use it against groups of Crushers and Bosses.
     
  • Break-points:
    • Most Elites/Specials: 1 Hit
    • Mutants: 2 Hits
    • Bulwarks: 2 Hits
    • Maulers: 2 Hits
    • Crushers: 3 Hits
