Description

This is meant to be something of a take-all-comers build. You can take hordes spamming light attacks, specialists by revving and dropping a heavy attack, and elites/bosses with your bolter. Toss in some holy fire with your grenades and it's a party.

I marked this for Heresy-level difficulty as that's the highest I've gone at all in the game. It might work okay in Damnation. Take it on Auric difficulty at your own risk, let me know how it goes.

Melee Weapon - Mk XV Heavy Eviscerator

A lot of the time, if I've gone down with this build to a particular enemy type, it seems to be Maniacs. Having bonus damage against them helps put them down faster. Weakspot damage is helpful as well as the light attack spam with this is a nice, flat swing, so you can put that at head level for most enemies pretty reliably. Ogryns not so much, but you're going to want a revved heavy attack against those anyway.

For perks, I think Rampage and Bloodletter give you the most bang for your buck, as Rampage helps you carve through hordes a bit faster and Bloodletter gives you some DoT against anything that doesn't die right away.

Ranged Weapon - Boltgun

I think the Boltgun gets a bad rap. Yes, there are probably better options out there, but let's face it, we're here for the power fantasy, and what says "power fantasy" better than .75-caliber rocket-propelled explosives fired at full automatic? You're primarily going to mag-dump against things like Ogryns, Elites, and Bosses, though I have occasionally fired into hordes to thin them out before they get into charge range, or taken aimed fire against a Gunner, Flamer, or Sniper. Perks are up in the air, as there are a few I could argue, but Calvacade/Shattering seems to fit my usage more often than not.

Curios

Do what you want here. This isn't a Martyrdom build, so wounds don't matter so much, and being able to use the purification stim and have it take me back to at least half health reliably isn't something to sneeze at, to my mind. Toughness vs health is your call, and corruption resistance is there mostly because it feels like the most useful thing to have. At the end of the day nothing here is critical so run what you feel works best for you.

Talents

Pretty self-explanatory. This is very much a straightforward melee build, no mucking about with stealth or fumbling with a relic for you. You go into battle against the enemy, and with bolter and chainsword you shall purify Atoma in the name of Him on Terra. If you feel too squishy the first thing I'd look at would be dropping Duelist for Blood Redemption, but that is a potential drop in damage output, and damage is the name of the game here. You could swap keystone skills from Blazing Piety to Martyrdom, and put a wounds curio or two on, but I'm not a huge fan of running around with low health. But that's just me.
