Your role in a team is to thin hordes, kill specialists, and soften up elites.
Deadshot allows for a a nice 25% increase in Crit when ADSing. With Stamina Regen on curios, and a Stamina Delay Reduction, you’ll be able to activate the extra crit often. In any scenarios you’re getting shot at, you get some free stamina, which will allow you to deal with shooter hordes more easily. Combining Deadshot and Longshot help you deal with Snipers and other far ranged threats; an otherwise difficult enemy to deal with when using a Recon Lasgun.
The MK 2 Recon Lasgun has cleave through Groaners and Poxwalkers, so the horde clearing capabilities are decent. The important thing is not getting completely blocked when targeting important enemies through hordes.
Use multiple Shredder Frag Grenades if the horde starts to overwhelm your team, using the recon Lasgun to stack Bleed damage with Burn on Ragers/Maulers. Your shovel can be used to deal with Crushers.
