This game is inspired by the need of completing Melk's contract to finish missions with no player deaths as well as  DOTA2 celebrity SirActionSlacks and his 9YO guide My *actual* Guide for Escaping MMR Hell as well.

As he puts it in his guide, you have to imagine you're on a ship, its called the SS dumbfuck and you're the captain.Everybody sucks ass, they think they're good with their min-maxed build but you and I know they're gonna shit the bed as soon as they get swallowed by the first beast of nurgle. Its your responsability to get everybody back in one piece so you dont have to run another 10 missions to complete Melk's contract.

HOW IT WORKS:

With this build whe're gonna focus on keeping the mission under control at all times to prevent having teammates going down and\or reviving mid fight which can lead to a wipe.

The way to do that is by spamming your ability "Chorus of spiritual fortitude", buffing your allies with crit chance from "infectious zeal"and damage from "Ecchlesiarch's call" so they dont get caught lackin by raggers or crushers or whatever.

We're also taking :Beacon of purity:  so you can get rid of any corruption they acumulate trough the missiong and get full value out of a medpack when YOU deploy it(more on that later)

With this build you wont get top damage but you are very capable of dealing with high priority targets like trappers, flammers, bombers, dogs, etc as well as hordes of trash. If not by outright killing them then by staggering and keeping them controlled so your teammates can deal with them when they're done picking their nose.

TL:DR

  1. Pull out shotgun and fire into a horde to get max stacks of "scattershot" blessing for extra crit chance.
  2. SWITCH TO YOUR SWORD the scattershot stacks will remain
  3. Keep slashing everything and it will either get staggered by the "hammerblow" blessing + your other passives or critted to death.
  4. If you need to deal with anything outside of melee range use your :Blades of faith: or switch to your shotgun but remember to recover the :scattershot: stacks at some point.
  5. All the crits with the Catachan sword will procc" Invocation of death" very generously, reducing cooldown on "Chorus of spiritual fortitude". SPAM THAT SHIT even preemptively, even if they just took 1 hit of toughnes, don't let them take damage, you will get another sooner than you think.
  6. For resources like ammo crates, medpacks and stimms you have to take a very proactive aproach. It's a use it or lose it situation, you can either use the special action button to give it to someone as long as they're not already carrying one or outright inyect them\deploy the crate yourself.

HOW TO PLAY:

You want to use your ability as often as possible, it will keep everything off of you and your team while keeping them buffed with a surplus of up to 100 toughnes and +20% damage as long as you channel at least 5 pulses (I recomend to let it run for the full duration unless there is an imminent threath and you just need a bit of extra toughness for someone on your team) you have the tools to get it back sooner rather than later trough "Invocation of death" as long as you keep slashing with your catachan sword so it should be out most of the time.

To get extra crit chance with your sword (to get back your ability ASAP) we're going to do what they call a pro gammer move. You will need to fire your shotgun at a horde and try to hit as many poxwalkers as you can with a single shot to get up to 5 :scattershot: blessing stacks, then immediately switch to your sword and farm  crits until you get the next ability use.

Use the ability often and generously since you'll have a lot of uses you can pretty much use it before any engagement and get another use midway trough the fight.

Remember is a use it or lose it approach so same thing applies to the resources like stimms, ammo crates and healtpacks. You can either use the special action button to give it to someone as long as they're not already carrying one or outright inyect them\deploy the crate yourself.

Melee

You will atack very fast so just keep slashing and you'll keep getting kills from your crits with "shred" blessing + "scourge" pasive and controlling the room with stagger from "hammerblow"Blessing +"Grievous wounds" pasive +"hammer of faith"pasive+"Punishment"pasive.

You can pretty much stager any enemy with this build except for monstrosities. Just keep slashing, be aware that some tougher enemies like crushers, will usually take a few hits more after you have full "hammerblow" stacks.

If you get overwelmed remember you can use the special action button to parry most atacks, the tighter your timming the less stamina you'll consume but if you spam it you can parry a few hits and get back to proactively slashing to keep them staggered and controlled.

>Must have: "Hammer blow" bleesing, "Shred" blessing, 2%-5% crit chance Perk. Use what you like or what you have for the last perk

Ranged:

The MKVII combat shotgun it's pretty good on itself and altough we're mainly using it to get the "scattershot" Blessing stacks you can keep loading the special action slug and it will drop any crusher, bulwark or reapper on their ass and most of the time will oneshot most specialist\elites which also synergizes with "full bore" blessing(you can also use :No respite: blessing as an alternative). The "Dance of death" pasive will also get you a very tight shot as well with this MK, use it to take out multiple high priority targets if needed but remember all shotguns in this game work best when you ADS.

>Must have:"Scattershot" blessing. Use what you like for the other blessing and perks but I recomend the ones on this guide.

Blitz:

The Blades of faith will sometimes oneshot some specialist if you have full "Blazing piety" pasive stacks or if you aim it at their weakspot othertimes it will at least interrupt them and kill on the second throw, you can use that to prevent a bomber from throwing a grenade,a trapper from shooting a net,a sniper from taking their shot, etc. They dont have any cooldown or reload time and are overall pretty snappy ,you will get them back with ammo pickups and specialist melee kills so as we mentioned before be generous with them and throw them often. work best close to mid range.

NOTES\TIPS:

You will usually get 2 medpacks trough the mission, use your best judgement to know when to deploy them and who you want to give it to.If your team has some corruption build up it might be worth to wait a little so you can get rid of it with :Beacon of purity:

If you already have a stimm on stock and you find another one don't just leave it there, you can pop one of them and carry the other one with you or use it on one of your team mates even if you get little to no value out of it. its better to be safe than sorry.

Yellow stimms and blue stimms work best with this build\playstyle.

Curios are not that important for this build, any of the listed perks on this guide will have good synergy but use what you like or what you have available.Altought I do recomend to always run at least +1 wound on higher dificulties for good measure.

For RPing I use the "Pious Lazar's Vestments" since the all white  aesthetic fits the theme, you do have to buy it

from the commissar tough, I think is like a milli.

This build works with any catachan sword since the blessings and perks are basically what enable it, as far as I'm concerned the only thing that changes are the attack animations specially for heavy attacks, use what you like or what you have available. I use the MK I cause I got a nice roll on it lemme know what works for you.

Git gud or get carried

Alternative variants of this build (work in progress):

There is another version of this build  that I havent tried that much same idea but makes more emphasis on stagger for more CC and less on crits\cd reduction altoughnyou also get some of that.

>Melee:Same catachan sword but with "hammerblow" and "trauma" blessings

>Ranged: Flamer with "Fan the flames" and either "overpressure" or "blaze away" blessings
