Description
Overview
Frontline Veteran with high damage output. Relies on switching between melee and ranged often.
Agile Engagement and Weapon Specialist + Always Prepared should be triggering constantly giving you a +25% damage boost and a permanent bullet in the revolver to keep the cycle going.
Voice of Command should be used well and often and it will also boost your damage output cumulatively with For The Emperor! and Close Quarters Killzone.
Weapon Specialist negates some of the negative aspects of the power sword such as low dodge- and attack speed.
Strengths
- Enemies: Anything human-sized.
- Cleaving through enemies like it's cake-time.
- Mobile and versatile enough for auric maelstrom/hi-intensity missions.
- Lots of built-in toughness.
- Sniping elites and specials.
- Improved Krak Grenades will delete armoured mobs.
Weaknesses
- Enemies: Bosses.
- It's easy to get overwhelmed if Voice Of Command is on cooldown.
- Switching weapons is time consuming and slow (and you often forget it).
- Playstyle rewards careful aim and being acutely aware of your surroundings.
Blessings
- Revolver
- Terrifying Barrage has great utility when charging mobs of shooters and will give you that (very much needed) pause to power up the sword.
- Glory Hunter for toughness, Point Blank for +crit chance or Speedload for +reduced reload time. I like Glory Hunter for the clutch/life-saving properties.
- Power Sword
- Power Cycler is a no-brainer.
- Brutal Momentum outperforms increased cleave and stacking power in my opinion.
Curios
Toughness is generally good for the Veteran with all the built in Toughness Damage reduction talents, therefore I usually go with at least 2xToughness curios. The last slot can be filled with Max Life, Toughness or Stamina depending on what you enjoy. For this build my choice is Stamina and stamina regen to capitalize on the boosted Movement Speed. The added fact that getting to and being close to enemies is the whole point of this build makes it the obvious choice for me.
Notes
Positioning and movement (running + sliding) between enemy engagements is the key to making this build work. If you like a more laid-back playstyle; this build isn't for you.
