The Axe
- Most important thing in building the axe is reaching 1-shot breakpoints in hordes and heavy 1-shot breakpoint for Brutes.
- The most difficult part of that is usually getting the 1-shot on infested poxwalkers. A perfect roll will do it without +Infested, but slightly lower rolls will need either +Infested or +Groaners/poxwalkers, or 2 points into Purge the Unclean.
- Headtaker is a fantastic blessing on it
- Brutal Momentum is good, but the level isn't too important. Taxe has a great weakspot damage value but even then the +15% weakspot comes out to more like +7% total damage. Upgrading from BM III or even II isn't worth it most of the time.
- For perks, Flak and Carapace are both very helpful. Since the weapon has great weakspot damage, you'll generally want to hit Maulers in the head.
- Stat Priority: Critical Bonus = Finesse > Damage = Penetration > Mobility
- Use a heavy for your chastise hit
Ranged Options
The Bolter
- Best anti-armor, but it's really unwieldy for regular use. Use throwing knives for everything else and save the bolter for when you need to kill 3+ crushers at once.
- Chastise the Wicked gives armor piercing for 3 seconds or until you hit with a melee attack. That's just enough time to dump a mag.
- You can throw a knife while pulling the bolter out to cancel the animation. Not usually necessary but if you can kill a threat with the knife while pulling the Bolter out it's not wasted.
- Dodge to make use of Dance of Death's recoil reduction when faced with many gunners or reapers. They will then be de-faced.
Zarona Revolver
- Easier to use than a Bolter and more ammo efficient
- Surgical and Hand Cannon make it still good against armor
