Talents

Description

A crit/ws spam focused, high mobility build, with options for support, high single target and boss DPS, and generally good ability to deal with anything that comes at you.

Weapons:

Combat Blade - Both work fine here, I prefer the VI for the wide sweep, makes horde clearing better, but the perks across the two blades are the same, so take whichever you prefer. Crit focus perks through and through, bleed is also very powerful on this build as you gain additional crit for bleeding enemies, giving a circular effect of bleed and crit stacking.

Revolver - Other contenders would be the bolt pistol, or potentially any high damage single/semi shot weapon, generally only used for taking out snipers or clearing a few gunners when you're pinned down.

Grenade:

Blades - Great for getting that last tick of damage on bleeding enemies, or specials, good for dodge spamming at ragers when you're low on toughness and need to catch a breath.

You are also in a position to take the immolation here if you drop Faithful Frenzy, though I'm not a fan of them, the build will remain mostly the same.

Ability:

Shroudfield - A great panic button, amazing for doing mission objectives, and team rez. The 6s allows you to fairly consistently do the Servitor hack minigame, pull levers and rez teammates, also gives you plenty of time to get behind Beasts of Nurgle for the crit spot. You get this ability back very fast with this build.

Keystone:

Blazing Piety - Crits, crits and more crits. On Auric Maelstrom, there are so many enemies you have this ability up forever, and whenever it goes down, you get it back within seconds due to the crits.

Notable Talent combinations and decisions:

Not taking Until Death, or Restoring Faith - This was a tough choice, not taking Until Death is always difficult on Zealot, but that very rare save you will get from it, in my opinion doesn't make up for how much it really frees you up to take a bunch of other good Talents for increasing the viability of this build, such as the below. The same here goes for Restoring Faith.

Good balance, Enduring Faith and Invigorating Revelation - This combination of Talents allows an insane amount of toughness damage reduction, hence why the Curios are all toughness increasing. Here you will be able to tank an insane amount of damage as and when it comes.

Fortitude in Fellowship + Loner, Second Wind - Fortitude in Fellowship is always active due to Loner, Second Wind will be constantly proccing, and in general you'll be killing a lot of enemies from bleed, giving you a fairly steady supply.

Thy Wrath be Swift - Very useful, enough said.

Invocation of Death, Blazing Piety, Combat Blade (Crit and Bleed perks), Scourge - This is a well known combination. Bleed on Blade and Scourge creates a looping crit and bleed buff that is constant, giving other buffs such as toughness damage reduction also. Blazing is always up because of this, and you often find yourself with essentially 100% crit chance, making Invocation of Death give your ability consistent uptime. Use the ability to score massive damage on monstrosity, large enemy and gunner weak spots and you'll be back up to full ability in seconds. This combination loop alone is the backbone of the build, all other things can be changed if this remains consistent across your build.

How do I play this build?

Like any other crit zealot movement build.

For the noobs - Constantly dodge and spam left click, charged attack for the wide swing to initiate with hordes and for elites, hold charged attack for the speed boost (use this to reposition and kite), cancel with block and repeat for movement, use this to focus disablers, kite enemies and flank. The build excels from dealing a lot of crits and applying a lot of bleed, so spamming light attack works well, but you will need to use the charged attack for dealing damage as most of your light attack damage will come from the bleed stacks and not the attack itself, however this light attack spam will proc a lot of your talents, so use this when low on toughness, or if you need Shroudfield up for an emergency rez.

For the experienced players - The same as above but with more control, and less spam, also using the melee bash trick if you know it.
