5-8 Bleed Stacks on Critical Hit.
12-24% Rending on Enemy Weak Spot Hit for 3.5s. Stacks 5 times.
4.5-6% Close Range damage on Repeated Hit. Stacks 5 times.
1-4 Burn Stack(s) on Critical Hit to a maximum of 3-12 Stack(s).
This is my favorite variation of the Classic Zealot Preacher build. It's great at killing bosses, clearing hordes in melee, and can assist with crossfiring or special sniping if needed.
Pros: Great single target DPS, survivability, very mobile.
Cons: Weaker ranged capabilities than ranged focused builds, survivability is very dependent on an offensive playstyle.
Weapons
In this build you may use whatever melee weapon you want as long as you can deal with Carapace. I recommend the Combat Blade because it provides you with very high mobility, great horde clear, and great burst damage.
For your ranged weapon I have three recommendations depending on what you prefer or what role you would like your weapon to fill: Zarona Mk IIa Quickdraw Stub Revolver for special sniping, Accatran MG Mk II Heavy Laspistol for crossfiring and boss DPS, or Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer for horde clear.
Curios
For Curios I run a balanced setup with 2 toughness and 1 stamina. Grab Ability Cooldown, Stamina Regeneration, Toughness, Sprint Efficiency, and Block Efficiency. You're going to be using your ability whenever it's up so you really want as much cooldown reduction as you can get and stacking stamina benefits makes surviving much easier.
Talents
There are a ton of great survivability options on the top of the Zealot tree that I like running to include: Enemies Within, Enemies Without, Second Wind, and Enduring Faith.
Offensive talents that really help carry this build are Anoint in Blood, Purge the Unclean, and Scourge which improve our damage over time (DOTs), crit chance, and ranged damage against bosses - which is important because a good chunk of our boss damage with this build utilizes your gun.
The Blitz we take is Stunstorm Grenade because it is really useful in a lot of clutch situations and it's on the left side of the tree, saving us points as we navigate down.
Duelist is a must take for Zealot, it provides so much damage. I take Until Death and Holy Revenant because when I play Zealot my team mates love to shoot and explode Pox Bombers on me (and I suck). It's really difficult to navigate to the right and grab Thy Wrath Be Swift, but I suggest you get used to playing without it so you can take advantage of the value gained from Duelist, Until Death, and Holy Revenant.
Our ability is going to be Fury of The Faithful and we're going to combo it with as much attack speed and crit possible so that we can keep it off cooldown, which leads into our keystone: Blazing Piety.
You have 2 flex points with the build, I put them into Faithful Frenzy because I really value attack speed with a melee class. Another good choice is Restoring Faith since you are already taking Until Death. It helps a ton with survivability.
Note: I avoid taking Sustained Assault with this setup because our main sources of damage on bosses are going to be DOTs and the Las Pistol. There aren't many reasons to try to boost our melee damage, which I understand is ironic since we're on Zealot - but with this build it all works out really well.
