Psyker
12.5-20% Critical Chance for 6s on successful Dodge.
45-60% Finesse Damage for 2s on successful Dodge.
5-8% Strength for every 10% of magazine spent during continuous fire. Stacks 5 times.
-8.5--5.5% Charge Time on Chained Secondary Attack. Stacks 3 times.
Pros:
-Easily and quickly delete hordes of all types of little guys
-100% bubble uptime (so long as we maintain charges.)
-quickly and efficiently deal with nearly all types of threats in large quantities (Monstrosities and Crushers are the only exception. Reapers aren't the fastest kills, but they are staggered throughout rendering them harmless.)
-Nearly infinite Peril
-Can block a lot to re-position or tank chaos spawns or plague ogryns, ragers or anything that isn't an overhead.
-We have basic brain burst for taking out specials outside of the staffs range.
Cons:
-Can be visually disruptive to teammates
-Relies on bubble to recover toughness
-When our defenses are breached we fall over really fast, snipers, crushers, maulers... you can't be getting hit by these. We have the tools to prevent this with bubble, stagger, pushing, and blocking, but when we fail.... we fall fast.
Build Overview:
We use purgatus staff to soften/delete the mixed hordes (secondary attack) and provide support to our teammates through situational staggering (Primary attack) The dueling sword is used for Crushers, Muties, and enemies who aren't grouped up enough to justify the staffs secondary charge time. Brain burst is also employed to take out specialists, crushers, and bulwarks who are outside of range of our other weapons.
Enemies:
Groaners/Poxwalkers/Bruisers/Shooters/Stalkers/:
secondary attack deletes them in seconds, start charging and fire off as soon as you can, rinse repeat.
Gunners/Shotgunners:
If protected by bubble, exactly the same as above, if not shoot a couple of primary attacks out to stagger them and then use secondary attack to melt them. If they are by themselves it is faster to use the dueling sword heavy attack, but on your approach you can primary attack with staff to stagger them.
Maulers:
Very slow and their center mass is flak so Secondary attack melts them, back dodge and melt with secondary attacks.
Crusher:
They are basically immune to the purgatus staff. It takes almost an entire minute to kill one using just the staff. So instead we use the Heavy attack stab from the dueling sword. You can employ the special attack immediately after the heavy and it will stagger them if both shots hit the head. We should prioritize killing the enemies we make short work of, but sometimes you still need to take them out.
Ragers:
Secondary attack melts them, but we have to be careful because they also stagger and melt us, so if they get to close, start using primary attacks to break their attack chain and stagger them, then resume secondary attacks. We can also make short work of them using the dueling sword heavy followed by special stagger locking a single rager.
Muties:
Heavy attack on a mutie leaves them at about 200 health, if you have a successful dodge buff or you crit it will 1 shot them. you can follow up with the special for a 2 shot if both hit the head, but I find that it's easier to just do single heavies.
Bombers/Flamers/Trappers/Dogs/Snipers
They all die pretty easily to Dueling Sword, Secondary attack, or brainburst. Use whichever fits best with the situation. They can all be staggered with primary attacks to prevent them from
Pox Bursters:
Aside from the obvious push with your melee weapon you can spam the primary attack to push back pox bursters. This is the only spammable ranged push for pox bursters so it can be really useful for preventing your team mates from getting hit by pox bursters that are hidden in crowds.
Chaos spawn/Plague Ogryn:
Prioritize other targets because your boss damage is, just okay. In between using your secondary attack does decent damage, and if you pull aggro just pull out your dueling sword and dodge/block appropriately. You can easily tank the monstrosities, so if you pull aggro don't be afraid to kite it around for a while to let your team deal with the other threats.
Beast of Nurgle:
From the front brain burst it, from the rear secondary attack it, or heavy attack to bait out its slam and dodge to keep it locked in place and prevent it from sliming your teammates.
Bulwarks:
For just one you brain burst it and use the opening to heavy attack it in the head. After that switch to secondary attack and fire through it
Reapers:
They have a lot of health, but they stagger easily from secondary attack. So use secondary attack, brain burst, or Heavy attacks all three are effective against them.
Why no Wildfire?
-It doesn't really do much when you are constantly adding more stacks than it spreads. Every enemy you kill only spreads 4 stacks and those stacks are split to different enemies. The difference is so small that it can't compare to being able to block with peril.
Variations:
You could use a combat knife instead of the Dueling sword for more mobility
