The purpose of this build is simple: Stay alive and keep everyone else alive, too.
Your main goal when playing this build is to support with shield and gun down problematic enemies with infernus stacks.
The high crit chance you naturally have paired with the high fire rate of the Mk VId (renamed the Mk XII in the Locked and Loaded update) will allow you to spread burn to most enemies helping to take them down quicker. In addition, the unyielding damage bonus is imperative to keep decent damage on Monstrosities. You also need the selected Dueling Sword to have an anti-maniac and heavily armored elite killing weapon when necessary. You will need to have quick reactions and fast dodges, but killing Crushers and Maulers isn't too much of a chore with a properly build Mk IV Dueling Sword.
That's all great, but more importantly:
Assail and Telekine Shield
Assail is your general horde clear ability of choice. Throw out quick shards while dodging to help clear out the chaff. In addition, Disrupt Destiny activating and the inclusion of the passive Soulstealer gives you quick quick toughness regen when necessary.
The shield is self-explanatory. Boost you and your allies' toughness regen and keep yourself safe from rouge gunners. Keep in mind, however, the shield's cooldown.
Flak damage can replace Crit Chance on your gun if you prefer, just keep in mind you will be reaching max Infernus stacks slightly slower. This is up to personal preference or personal testing with your weapon.
