You can Hipfire with this weapon while Sprinting. 6-15% Close Damage while Sprinting. Also reduces weapon spread at all times by 30%.
This is a melee-focused Psyker, effective in Auric Maelstrom and below. Psyker + Berserker = Psyzerker
You can use a variety of melee weapons with this. The good ones in my experience: combat knife, duelling sword, Devil's Claw, and force greatsword. If you use a force sword, consider taking Warp Unbound so you don't blow yourself up from push attacking or using weapon special. Combat knife is my current favorite for the strong push attacks and great mobility. Force greatsword is very cool thematically, but I don't think it's the strongest option.
Ranged weapon is mostly down to personal preference. The overall best options are bolt pistol, revolver, recon lasgun, and infantry autogun. If you use a melee weapon that's bad against carapace (such as Devil's Claw), bring either the Zarona revolver or bolt pistol to kill crushers.
You can make a version of this build with Assail instead of Brain Rupture and save a point for whatever else you want, but you give up Psykinetic's Aura. I've played it both ways and they're both good.
Since the build has 49% increased toughness from curios, it gets a lot of value from the +15 toughness nodes on the skill tree. With the current build, I have nearly 180 toughness. You can optionally drop one of those +15 nodes to get other things you want, such as Surety of Arms. I prefer just having the higher base toughness for protection from ranged damage. Having your toughness broken is very dangerous on a build like this because it lacks the tools that Zealot and Veteran have to quickly recover from that situation.
