Description
Auric Storm Support Trooper
Hello! This is my first time making a class build for the Darkitde Community even though I have been with you, slogging through dregs and scabs, ogryns and warp monsters since the beta.
First class, like with many of you was the humble Sharpsoother Veteran.
This build is meant to be a sort of all-arounder picker-upper for your team.
From my experience this one's been able to do everything almost completely without teammates. It only lacks a bit for horde control.
Got a corridor to hold? M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun.
Got a mutant rushing at you? Rev up the Chainaxe.
Got Crushers, Maulers and other mutated or armored nasties coming your way? That's where your Anti-Tank Krak Grenades come in handy.
But, of course as in any situation, sometimes the plasma gun simply cannot outshoot 5 Dreg gunners, 3 Reapers and 7 snipers stacked up ontop of eachother; which is why the Infiltrate ability with Overwatch is so important.
Stealth was initially intended to be used for picking up your fallen comrades and pick them back up so that you don't lose a gun in the ever-present war against [REDACTED] or sneak up behind enemy lines taking out the pesky ranged units that have got your team pinned down and then simply skedaddle back to your teammates with the Overwatch's 2nd Infiltration charge.
The Field Improvisation is important for your Ogryn and Zealot buddies to restock on Grenades and for you all to clear your Wounds of Corruption.
The Orestes Mk. XII Assault Chainaxe will help you deal with them quickly, the Krak Grenades against any other armored enemies and the plasma gun with basically anything.
The M35 Magnacore Mk II Plasma Gun is meant to handle anything a bit chewier than scab traitor infantry at a range- you CAN swap it out with anything else I just prefer the plasma gun for precision and damage. (That's a lie, I like the thump noise it makes when it shoots).
The Curios are meant to help you stay in the fight- if you think that the +1 Wound Curio is a bit too much you can swap it out for more Toughness or Speed, I never found to need more toughness or speed.
The build is meant to aid your teammates. Infiltrate to free them from captivity, pick them up from the ground or free them from a Trapper's net when needed.
But that doesn't mean you can't chew through enemies like a Melee specialized Zealot.
-Kind Regards
