The Psyker Wildfire build specializes in two fields: horde clear and crowd control. The name stems from the fact that you'll be spreading Soulblaze from both of your weapons at all times. Both weapons are crit focused for burst damage and Soulblaze spread. This build applies multiplicative damage without direct engagement. As a result, Soulblaze will expedite your personal TTK and the TTK of your teammates.
Your most important task will be crowd control, which this build excels at. Yes, you are effective at killing Elites, Specials, Ogryns and Monstrosities, but in Auric Maelstrom & Auric Damnation, you'll be dealing with mobs of these enemies, so staggering is a bigger priority than killing. Thus, you'll be left-clicking often with your staff. Once the mobs thin out, you can switch over to melee combos, plus Kinetic Flayer will be killing periodically throughout. Brain Burst is only there to have the aforementioned Blitz Modifier and your as-needed sniping tool. If played optimally you'll score well in Team, Defensive and Offensive stats. You won't best the leaderboards in Disabler and Special kills unless your team isn't running meta builds. This is a very chill (no pun intended) and easy build to play, albeit aggressive in application.
The stagger you get from left-click is your primary cc tool. Especially in this build type. Soulblaze and Inferno Staff are a match made in heaven, as you'll see. Yes, you will right-click for lesser enemy hordes, but once mobs Maulers, Crushers, Ragers and Specials show up, you want to switch to left-click. That said, you want to take advantage of Blaze Away damage too, so don't ignore your charged attacks (right-click); short bursts (charges) of flames will still get your stacks.
This build is centered around Soulblaze, so while you're always welcome to use whatever melee you prefer, if you want to take full advantage of Soulblaze, use any of the available Force Swords for the Blazing Spirit blessing. Since it's crit dependent, crit hit chance is a natural perk pairing. Your second blessing can be anything you like; I took Riposte since you dodge a lot in Malestrom, thus 20% crit chance for 6 seconds is generous, however this slot is optional. I'm using the Deimos Mk IV Blaze Force Sword because it has a perfect combo for Crushers, Maulers and Ragers: Light 1 > Heavy 1. You could also use the Special Action Light 1 > Light 1 > Heavy 1.
Like I mentioned above, this is your sniping tool for ranged enemies and is a requirement in order to take Kinetic Flayer because we want that periodic Brain Rupture proc. You can also use Brain Rupture for boss damage, but lighting them up with flames might be faster and your teammates are going to be bursting the boss damage anyways. That said, the damage over time from fire is always welcomed.
This is almost a must on all Psyker builds, because it's so good for you and your team. The more opportunities everyone has to use their ability, the better. We're also going to take Psykinetic's Aura to stack that cooldown since you see up to 150+ specials at the highest difficulties.
We take this for two reasons: keeping our flame up, but mainly to apply stacks of Soulblaze because we're taking every Soulblaze application offered. Remember, it's all about multiplicative damage. This build deals damage indirectly since Soulblaze will be spreading from whoever our primary target is, and from multiple procs.
Soulblaze is our central passive. So I'll be outlining all related nodes so you can understand the damage flow. All exponential damage is coming from our Soulblaze so we're taking everything that applies more blaze.
I like this Keystone because we get Toughness regen, a sweet ability cooldown loop, and further down, we take In Fire Reborn, which gives us a 10% chance to get a warp charge. So our kills will feed directly into our CDR and damage; it's a very friendly loop tree. Disrupt Destiny is also a mention worthy choice. Mainly because not only do we get Toughness regen, but we get a big movement buff by 20% and most importantly, we get crit damage and weak-spot damage, which pairs perfectly with our crit centric weapons.
Curios have less wiggle room because we're playing on the highest difficulty. All three of your Curios should have Ability CDR. We want as to use our ability in this build, or any build for that matter, as much as possible. I also go with +12% Stamina Regen across all three. Since Psyker runs slow with Force Swords I like getting stamina back quickly. Remember, stamina = more blocking & longer sprints. Finally, I go with +17% Toughness perks on two Curios and +3 Stamina on the third one; the extra stamina will help our defense if we're stuck out of position, need to kite enemies for a better engagement, or need to revive. Toughness blessings, i.e. shields, is never a bad choice for Psyker since he has the lowest toughness damage reduction.
This is a build I've wanted to make since the class system rework. Soulblaze sounded like a neat multiplicative method of killing so I wanted to put together a build that took every application the game offers and see what happened. I would this an untraditional meta build since the stagger and damage do so well at the highest difficulty. Not a ton of finesse required here (except melee). Just burn it all down.
