Inspired by this build (He was in fact cooking): https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9ca48659-8dd0-42cb-9000-8d2d3949ec8f/the-chef-special One of my jankier builds. If you are a fan of switching between melee and ranged constantly, like I am, this build will be up your alley. ConceptThe core gameplay loop is you blasting everything with the flame staff and anything that doesn't burn up immediately gets a swift bonk to the head and another flaming. The reason why it's a bit janky is this build goes all in on the `All or Nothing` blessing on the Axe, using only stamina curios and adding a stamina perk to the axe, in order to maximize the uptime of this blessing. Additionally, the `Limbsplitter` blessing encourages you to only use the axe on tougher targets to dish out maximum pain every 3.5 seconds.
***Edit: After playing with this build extensively, I decided to drop one of the stamina curios in favor of a toughness one + make all health perks into toughness ones. One of the biggest weaknesses of this build is gunners randomly shredding your health, especially shotgunner hoards. With how often you are on the frontlines and with how quickly you can regenerate toughness, it made sense to up the defense to be able tank a few more shots. Things to note about the talent tree...Malefic Momentum: No brainer in a build focused heavily on switching between physical and magical attacks.
By Crack of Bone: We'll be focused on an endless dance of flaming and bonking foes, this node will allow us to continue this dance much longer before we have to use Venting Shriek (Ability) / manually quell our peril.Kinetic Deflection: We'll want to always be at 0 stamina to get the full damage of `All or Nothing`, so being able to protect ourselves using peril instead of stamina is essential to our exhausted mage's survival.
Blitz: Smite + Enfeeble + Charged Strike - Used to slightly up damage against targets tough enough to survive a heavy smack with the axe.Keystone: Empowered Psionics - Wasn't able to invest too deep into any keystones with my other selections, so I decided to go with the one that requires the least amount of nodes to be useful. With only one stack of Empowered Psionics, you should only smite when shit hits the fan and your little dance won't cut it to save the team.Maximizing `All or Nothing`:As mentioned in Big Thinker Builds' build, you can manually lower your stamina by push spamming. To maintain low stamina, I usually combo using a push attack and a light attack (Push Attack -> Light Attack) whenever I need to reposition through a hoard. Another trick to keeping stamina low is to be always running throughout a match. Especially during the wind up of your heavy axe attacks, as doing so makes it possible for you to have 0 stamina during the attack, getting all 5 stacks of `All or Nothing`.Practice the LimbSplitter Dance (Assumes you have a level IV LimbSplitter blessing for the timing):1. Half-charge your flame staff and let loose on your target (Penetrating Flames Blessing weakens targets armor)
2. Begin running towards your target.3. Right after you start to run, M1 a puff of fire to stagger your target while running (Run 'n' Gun Blessing in action) 4. Switch to axe and heavy attack target, aiming at head.
5. Dodge back
6. Repeat steps 1 - 5
