Overview:
This build is centered around the Voidstrike Force Staff secondary attack - stacking crit so that surge activates as often as possible. Surge will give you a pair of balls when you crit instead of a singular ball. It's incredibly strong. I like the Mk4 Devil's Claw as a melee weapon for this build, for the versatility of the move set and for the defensive utility of parry. The overall archetype is that of a ranged backliner, controlling crowds and eliminating packs of specials with overwhelming firepower. In exchange, you are somewhat squishy - although some talent points were allocated with toughness regen in mind.
Build Explanation:
The build is easy to play, and I like it because you don't have to spam left click or install a mod to spam left click for you like other psyker staff builds. Essentially, you will spam your fully charged balls at everything you see. Aim for head height, because your balls get weak spot damage bonuses and cleave. Your primary fire can be used to quickly dispatch priority ranged targets like gunners or snipers at long distances. As you kill, you will stack up warp charges - which will make you better at killing through Empyrean Empowerment. Between Empyric Resolve, Inner Tranquility and Battle Meditation - you can rapidly fire your balls of fury for quite a long time before you have to quell.
Scriers Gaze is utilized to give you a huge boost on demand. Wait until you have your 6 warp charges and then fire off your gaze when you see a big pack of elites or a boss. You will rapidly regain your warp charges by killing. Brain Rupture exists on this build mostly for the passive bonus damage spikes provided by Kinetic Flayer. Your staff can and will do the heavy lifting when it comes to killing distant priority targets. However, we pick up Kinetic Resonance as well - with that we can rattle off 4 or 5 rapid fire Ruptures per Scriers Gaze for big monstrosity damage when needed.
We are not running venting shriek, so keep an eye on your peril. You want to wait to quell as close to 100% as you can so you get the most out of Warp Rider, and solidity makes this quick and easy. If you're in a bind though and your peril is maxed out but there's a horde on you - don't forget about your sword. You're not a Zealot, but you're no slouch in melee. Between Empyrean Empowerment, Rampage and Warp Rider - the Claw will rip through hordes of trash effortlessly. The parry function is an incredibly useful tool. It takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it you can do things like parry daemonhosts to death and instakill multiple ragers at a time.
Curios:
I like toughness and gunner protection. But this is pretty much up to you and how you like to play.
