 Psyker Build - Warhammer 40k: Darktide 

Beginner friendly build for Psyker intended for auric damnation and below.

This is a fun, unique and suprisingly capable off-meta melee psyker build that only works with illisi. I have done maelstroms with it but you have to work a lot harder than your average DS meta build. This is basically "Warp Rider" the build, trying to maintain 100% peril at all times. 

Build an illisi with the lowest warp resistance possible, meaning you can max peril quickly by spamming weapon special, and then spam venting shriek on cooldown to obliterate mixed hordes. Killing anything with soulblaze gives you 5% toughness from 'Souldrinker' so flaming hordes are giant toughness batteries for you, meaning you are deceptively tanky. 

Ideally you want to open fights with an 80%+ venting shriek to deal with chaff, then pick of priority elites at range with BB and pistol. Shriek + EP will mean the cast time of BB is actually playable, and you can chain together big elite killstreaks with perilous combustion often being enough to wipe entire shotgun hordes. 

Psychic leeching allows us to support the team a little with some toughness regen, and allows for taking a hit or 2 to our toughness to BB a priority target. Oh and if you have an EP stack, it will work with kinetic flayer without consuming a charge.
