This is my favorite build to run Auric Damnation quickplay with. I wanted a build that was tough to kill while providing valuable support to any team.
Talents and Theory:
The build is designed to support the team using melee crowd control, and we take Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude to further enhance that role. We take Stunstorm Grenades as our all-purpose panic button. 8 second stun in a huge radius is no joke. Beacon of Purity is incidental to this build since it was more convenient to take it than Benediction. But it's nice to have for pox gas or if there's another zealot in the squad, as nearly all zealot builds take Benediction.
Punishment, Hammer of Faith and the Emperor's Bullet further enhance the Indignatus Crusher's natural crowd control prowess. You just knock everybody all over the place. A pack of ragers is a lot less threatening to the team when they're on their butts getting their skulls caved in. Your revolver will naturally empty often, as you'll use it all the time to take out ranged specials and deal damage to bosses. You'll find Emperor's Bullet is up more than you'd think.
Anoint in Blood and Purge the Unclean are taken because they're just universally excellent talents on any zealot build.
Bleed for the Emperor is taken because of the synergy it has with our Martyrdom build. Because we have so many wounds, nearly any hit to our health is going to push us over a wound threshold. This works together with Shield of Contempt, Until Death and Revenant to make us incredibly hard to take down.
Strengths:
Exceptional crowd control. Packs of Ragers, Maulers and even Crushers are no problem for you to manage in melee. Very safe and fast trash horde clear. The Zarona Revolver provides quick death for all the annoying specials that won't come into Crusher range. Chorus and Stun Grenades will further help your team manage even the nastiest of mixed hordes by staggering and stunning everything.
Weaknesses:
Limited boss damage. For whatever reason, the Crusher is pathetic against monstrosities. You're reliant on your revolver for contributing to boss takedowns.
Less DPS. You are not going to be topping the charts in damage dealt with this build. You'll still kill things plenty fast, especially if you've got some wounds missing - but you're more optimized for supporting your team and being hard to kill.
