"We do not know what our chances of survival are, so we fight as if they were zero. We do not know what we are facing, so we fight as if it was the dark gods themselves. No one will remember us now and we may never be buried beneath Titan, so we will build our own memorial here. The Chapter might lose us and the Imperium might never know we existed, but the Enemy - the Enemy will know. The Enemy will remember. We will hurt it so badly that it will never forget us until the stars burn out and the Emperor vanquishes it at the end of time. When Chaos is dying, its last thought will be of us. That is our memorial - carved into the heart of Chaos. We cannot lose, Grey Knights. We have already won."
- Justicar Alaric If you ever wanted to play/RP a Grey Knight, now's the time! Granted, Fatshark prolly wont give us nemesis weapons or even the force halberd, but if you cross your eyes you can finally feel like a Grey Knight with the 2hander and the bolter pistol. This build is heavily reliant on crit chance, dodging, and playing with your peril levels. Tons of toughness regen with a focus on melee (you will be sort of the offtank/frontliner) make this pretty survivable, and most of all, fun.If you find yourself needing more mobility, trade Battle Meditation for Mind in Motion, although I'm still working out the details for how combat viable this build is. How I use this:
[Crowds/Horde]: This build excels at front lining mobs and dense packs of enemies due to the cleave focus. Swing heavy attacks to charge up both notches of the weapon, and once you have both full, make sure your peril is <50% before charging the weapon special. It'll turn into moonlight greatsword for all my soulsbrothers, and shoot a wave of magic that does INSANE cleave and damage. That's the bread and butter of this build, but be warned, as charging the weapon special builds 50% peril no matter where you start as far as peril goes. With the crit bonuses, the more mobs you hit the more you'll regen toughness and increase your own damage.
Once you have Empowered Psionics, let loose the smites and stun anything slightly armored or any ragers, then swap to melee and finish them off. Dodge when necessary (i.e. always), and dodge into your charged melee attacks. This build THRIVES on cleave and soft targets, so have fun shaving some heads.
[Ragers]: Smite. If you see them far enough, soften these targets (with target priority always on armored enemies) with the bolter pistol. If your aim is good enough, most ragers wont get into swing range before they die. If you have a base smite, learn to do frame swaps and smite before swapping to sword and finishing them up with a charged swing. Your block + counter is a STRONG push thrust, and can knockdown even crushers with good timing.[Elites/Ranged]: Right now the bolter pistol is busted. You can one shot pretty much anything non-carapace so long as you land a headshot. That being said, at 8 shots, make each one count and once you run out, holster your pistol and swap to Smite. Reload between engagements, try to avoid reloading in a fight unless you drop a telekine shield. Also, spam your telekine shield-- with the empowered ball shield, everyone gets free toughness regen while inside alongside being able to avoid pretty much all ranged.[Carapace]: Engage with a few bolter rounds to soften up tougher armor mobs. Normal strikes with the 2h force sword do no damage to Carapace body, so if you're being chased by anything heavier than Flak, charging your sword and swinging will do a lot of damage. Otherwise, block and counter thrust to the head for good crit damage. Your block + counter is a STRONG push thrust, and can knockdown even crushers with good timing.I took off Perilous Combustion (chance to activate soulblaze on kill) and Overpowering Souls (Garaunteed Psionics on Elite kill) for One With the Warp (10-33% toughness damage reduction based on peril)-- as a front liner, having as much toughness regen/damage dampening seems to be the winning combo versus a little bit more damage. Please feel free to recommend changes, but this isn't meant to be the TOP TIER 420 ELITE SPESHUL KILLER GOD build, but instead, one that will do really well playing with the tools that Fatshark gave us to achieve the ultimate class fantasy. You won't be stationary much in this build, and instead, reap the God-Emperor's will against the horrors of the warp with your blade and your mind."To the righteous, we bring hope; to the tainted, we bring fire."----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"One unbreakable shield against the coming darkness,
One last blade forged in defiance of fate,
Let them be my legacy to the galaxy I conquered,
And my final gift to the species I failed."
