Description
PRO'S
- Excellent damage output, even against carapace / flak enemies
- Melts bosses quicker than any other Veteran build (or your money back guaranteed)
- The ability to take on pretty much any enemy head on
- Broader team utility that ensures you are always useful
- Extremely fun to play, especially in melee
- Extremely versatile, strong at all ranges against all foes
- Endless grenades = endless fun
CON'S
- Chainaxe requires a bit of skill to get used to, you can't just spam light / heavy attacks
- Large hordes can overwhelm you if you're not prepared or are taken by surprise
- If your toughness gets broken you can get melted pretty quickly
- Mobility is not the best, so take care of positioning
WEAPONS
- With the Chainaxe, use your light attacks (they stun lock) to take on elites and specialists. Kill a crusher in 4 or 5 hits to the body. Keep a few ragers at bay while you rip them to pieces. Turn shotgunners into mulch with one strike. Behead some dogs if you feel like it.
- When things get heated and you have a crowd forming in front of you, it's time to start swinging heavy. Make use of footwork and dodge whichever direction you swing, catching as many enemies as you can with each strike.
- When things get REALLY heated, start mixing in your push attack, and make sure to hold down the attack key when you do so. This will throw out a followup horizontal strike that will double up to stagger on anyone in front of you, while dishing out extra pain.
- Use your rev attack for mutants as they pass you by, it will kill them in one hit, and also as a backscratcher for bulwarks.
- With the Boltgun, use it to one-shot any ranged enemies that you can't get close enough yet to shred to pieces with your Chainaxe. When it comes you bosses, then you can unleash your clip and watch them melt.
TALENTS
- Your Focus Target keystone has both offensive and defensive capabilities, as does your Voice of Command.
- Target Down ensures your toughness stays topped up, and with all the other talents that boost toughness you'll be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with your frontliners.
- Focused Fire is there to help you melt the tougher foes, like bosses. This with your Boltgun will allow you to mark any enemy for certain death.
- Aside from this, we have our Shredder Grenades that are boosted with the Grenade Tinkerer, Demolition Stockpile, and Demolition Team talents, ensuring you never run out of ways to level the playing field. Literally.
- We also dip into the bottom right of the talent tree to increase our melee capabilities, with important talents such as Trench Fighter Drill for a much needed boost to attack speed, along with Reciprocity and Desperado to increase the effectiveness of Exploit Weakness, which allows us to shred armoured foes.
PLAYSTYLE
- I head into each fight with my Boltgun ready to take out any ranged enemies one by one, making sure we are all clear to jump into the fray.
- You'll be heading straight for any specialists and elites after this, using a grenade or two to clear the path if needed - don't worry, you'll get them back in a second.
- Keep an eye on both yours and your teams toughness, and if you start to get overwhelmed then you use your ability to keep the horde at bay. Alternatively, you can open with this if you know you'll need the protection and/or stagger to take on your foes.
- Other than that, stay light on your feet, and make use of your dodges. We have Iron Will which allows us to tank a few hits, but beyond that you will need to be fast, and most importantly, furious.
- Lastly, don't stray from the team. This is not a lone wolf build, and you work best as a unit.
