Up to 5-20% Strength based on the charge time of your heavy attacks. Stacks 3 times.
Recover 15-24% toughness when hitting an enemy with a heavy attack, based on charge time.
5-8% Strength for every shot fired during continuous fire. Stacks 5 times.
Each chained melee hit with the gauntlet adds a stack which increases Melee Strength by 2-5%. Stacks 10 times and each stack lasts for 1.5 seconds.
The goal of this build is to take advantage of the Grenade Gauntlet's melee capabilities to free up your melee slot for single-target damage potential. This comes at the expense of top-end crowd control capabilities.
With Blaze Away and Gauntlet Momentum, the grenade gauntlet gets +90% power with an extremely simple activation condition (assuming blaze away impacts the gauntlet's melee damage. It builds stacks, so I assume it does). For crowd control, use a light-heavy-light-heavy attack chain. It doesn't have the best damage distribution, but it will stagger lots of enemies in an arc. Switch to heavies for higher single target damage. If you want to return to your crowd control chain, just spam lights until you get a leftwards sweep attack. Follow with a heavy and you'll be back in the chain.
The greatest strength of the grenade gauntlet, other than freeing up your melee slot, is that you can weave ranged attacks into your melee attacks. Save your shots for picking specials and staggering enemies that threaten your teammates.
I chose the Branx pickaxe for its extremely high single-target damage and armour penetration. The Branx doesn't pair well with torment, so I took Slow & Steady instead.
No Stopping Me, Implacable, Dedicated Practice, Bruiser, and Get Stuck In are all optional picks. The Grenade Gauntlet is clunky to use, so these perks help make up for that.
