Psyker Gaming

The point of this build is use the force great-sword as much as possible and to do as much damage as possible with it for the fun. We do that in a couple ways

  • Keeping high peril
  • Using the special attack with at least one charge; two if you want to one shot a horde
  • Making use of the warp for damage node uptime (Perfect Timing, Malefic Momentum and Soulstealer) and toughness sustain

Melee Weapon:

Peril management is really important to get right with Psyker obviously so its important to know how it works with certain weapons. You can activate your special attack at 99% peril with the force great sword and not over heat when you throw out the slash. The mark you go with wont matter much but these combos work well for the Mk VIII, my preferred option.

Horde:

  • Spam light attacks and weave in the special attack when you have a charge available

Elites:

  • Open with a special attack then heavy attack to access the overhead heavy attack chain. Or you can get the over head on the second heavy attack, use the sweeping heavy to clear some trash mobs then go into bursting the elites with the overheads.

Bosses:

  • Here you'll really want to open with the special so that you a) build some peril b) get to those high damage overhead attacks quickly. You can also open with the push attack poke follow up.

Range Weapon:

This staff solves problems that the force great sword suffers with. Bulwarks and range adds are the biggest problems youll run into but you can also use it to prime crushers and maulers. Peril management is a bit more tricky with the voidblast staff, make sure you dont reach 100% while charging the staff.

Light attack:

  • Use the light attack to burst down far away targets that get disrupt destiny proc
  • Range down the insanely dangerous shooters
  • Range down approaching specials and gunners that are setup far away
  • Use can also use it trigger a suppression effect on reapers while you and your team close the gap; this is a very powerful technique to abuse often

Heavy attack:

  • Use the heavy attack to open up bulwarks, stagger crushers and stagger maulers which is really important because youre creating a safe opening for you and your team to pump out damage without the risk of getting one shot.
  • When youre getting overrun and surrounded use your dodges to make some space while charging your heavy attack at the ground in front of you to get ragers or horde off of you.

Blitz:

Smite. We don't use it. Smite in this build its a node tax to get Pykinetics Aura and Malefic Momentum which are two of the strongest nodes in the build.

Combat Ability:

Bubble is our staying power, space creation tool and a means to control your teammates.

  • staying power: With the toughness generation while standing in the bubble youll be able to tank a lot of damage and because youre healing your chip damage youll be able to do a lot of damage as well because you wont be on the defense so much.
  • space creation tool: Using your bubble to block line of sight on gunners allows you and your team to cross the map safely.
  • means to control your teammates: Wherever you place your bubble your team will probably move to it, there are a few spots in all the maps that are superior in position, putting your bubble there will incentivize your team to fight there. One of the most efficient call outs you can make in voice comms is "stack on bubble" people can see it easily and theyre incentivized to go there for the toughness sustain.

Aura:

The choice is really up to you, as a respectable team member id recommend seers but the temptation to just take the crit is fair to succumb to.

  • Seer's Presence is the primary Aura choice because its simply TOO GOOD. You must have it in every composition imo
  • Prescience is the second best for this build because crit synergies really well with the nodes psyker has access to, definitely take it if you can. Especially if theres another psyker there.

Disrupt Destiny Note:

When you take disrupt destiny youre given two options: more stacks small uptime OR normal stacks more uptime. If you take more uptime 10s with 15 stacks then you dont need to take two stacks on headshots. If you take 25 stacks with 5s duration then you need to take 2 stacks on headshots. You can use the variable point for Queitude or Warp Expenditure (toughness back on quelling or generating peril)

I'll be adding Havoc 2.0 40 gameplay when it happens

I would also like to note that this isnt an OC build really, I would go out on a limb and say in these games with pretty limited build variations claiming something as OC is preposterous. Im not sure if there are others but here is another build on this site that is close to the same as mine, theirs is as far as im concerned "first"  https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9da6170f-0cea-42bc-8a70-f44daca948c5/greatsword-havoc-40-build-do-not-use
