+++THE GUIDE+++
HAVOC 40 capable
This is an extremely powerful and simple build for psyker. It deals immense damage, obliterates hordes, melts elites and destroys monstrosities. At the same time it doesn't require much skill to achieve most of that.
HOW TO USE
MELEE WEAPON
The Catachan Mk VI Combat Blade is there mostly just for mobility and potentially some boss damage if you know how to use it. You can spam heavies while sprinting to go faster, if you can also chain sliding with it you can go very fast and never run out of stamina. You can also dodge off of a any ledge to quickly move somewhat far.
Other weapons worth taking:
- Maccabian Mk IV Duelling Sword - the most obvious choice. It sacrifices some mobility for better and easier single target damage which is mostly useful for bosses. Blessings: Uncanny Strike and Thrust.
- Covenant Mk VI Blaze Force Greatsword - probably the strongest psyker melee weapon at least when it comes to damage. You lose all the mobility but can fight really well in melee. Risky pick in havoc. Blessings: Unstable Power, Riposte or Shred.
- Deimos Mk IV Blaze Force Sword - a great alternative for the greatsword. it gives you better mobility while still being useful in melee especially against elites. Blessings: Uncanny Strike, Deflector.
RANGED WEAPON
The Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff is the powerhouse of this build, it's your main source of damage. To use it just charge it up and then unload onto enemies, use the primary attacks to stagger some elites(Dreg Rager, Scab Rager, Scab Mauler, and all ranged elites) or specials. Blaze Away allows your charged up attack to deal much more damage and increases your dps by a decent margin. Warp Nexus lets you have a ton of crits which don't increase the staff's damage by that much but give you a lot of useful buffs from the talents.
SKILL TREE
BLITZ
Brain Rupture covers your biggest weakness which is lack of range. Use it to deal with specials and ranged elites.
AURA
Seer's Presence is one of the strongest auras in the game. Allowing your whole team to use their abilities more often is amazing.
ABILITY
Venting Shriek is a great tool for both peril management and crowd control. The main reason you want it i because of the damage it can give you through Creeping Flames. It is so thanks to how soulblaze works, each stack increases the damage by more than the previous stack meaning that +6 stacks will increase the damage dealt to an enemy with some stacks of soulblaze much more , than to an enemy with no stacks. The number of soulblaze an enemy has is capped so you can't deal potentially infinite damage. Creeping Flames allows you to bypass that cap and get +6 stacks on multiple targets massively increasing your damage output.
Venting Shriek works through walls which means you can set on fire enemies that you don't yet see or stagger a dog off of a teammate.
KEYSTONE
Warp Siphon allows you to spam Venting Shriek a LOT. On top of that i gives you few great buffs. Essence Harvest has a really good uptime while fighting hordes greatly buffing your survivability, meanwhile Inner Tranquility only reduces your peril which is much less useful. In Fire Reborn lets you get most of your warp charges but Psychic Vampire is also not bad if someone else on your team has also great way of dealing with hordes. Empyrean Empowerment buffs your damage nicely and Warp Battery makes this whole keystone much better.
REST OF THE TREE
- Soulstealer - gives you a lot of toughness.
- Mettle - not only does it give you toughness but also improves your mobility.
- Perilous Combustion - helps you slightly with spreading soulbalze.
- Perfect Timing - main reason behind why you want crits, warp damage applies to suolblaze and Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff buffing your damage greatly.
- Psykinetic's Aura - another skill to let you and your teammates spam your abilities. Extremely strong.
- Souldrinker - helps with both getting more crits and toughness.
- One with the Warp - helps you stay alive for much longer.
- Solidity and Puppet Master - can be taken depending on what you prefer. Solidity is useful if you struggle with peril management, while Puppet Master works nicely with other abilities(Seer's Presence, Psykinetic's Aura).
- Warp Rider - even more damage.
- Penetration of the Soul - not super useful but helps with carapace. DO NOT TAKE Empyric Resolve it hurts your survivability greatly and the buff is not that useful in this build.
CURIOS
BLESSINGS
You want 2x toughness to help you survive and to make better use of all the toughness regenerating talents and 1x stamina to help you with both using the Catachan Mk VI Combat Blade(both mobility and damage) and surviving in many situations. stamina is especially good on psyker who has the least of it.
other blessings:
- Health - useful but worse than toughness because you can't regenerate it.
- Wounds - NEVER take wounds on any class(except a zealot with Martyrdom) it is much better to take something which will help you with staying alive rather than being able to be downed more.
PERKS
Best perks:
- Toughness - same as with blessings, you want as much of it as you can amass.
- CDR - same as with the talents, more ability spam = more damage.
- Stamina regeneration - great for mobility and survival. One of them can be replaced.
- Gunners resistance - decent but you don't want to use many of due to how they stack(multiplicatively instead of additively which means that 3x is NOT +60%). Use it to potentially replace the stamina regen.
Decent perks:
- Health - same as with blessings.
- Corruption resistance(only in havoc) - helps you with surviving the increased corruption you get on havoc. Only ever take one.
Notably BAD perks:
- Toughness regeneration speed - biggest noob trap in the game. It only affects coherency toughness regeneration which is not only slow, requires teammates to work but also doesn't work with enemies nearby. NEVER USE IT.
- most resistances - most of them are useless for most of the game and when they do work they don't do that much for what you sacrifice.
- sprint efficiency - it does very little and doesn't help as much as the best perks.
- block efficiency/Revive speed - both of these only really help when someone is downed and even then they are only useful when there's a bunch of enemies around.
