Here's my build.
I mainly play Auric heresy and Damnation
First you need to learn the dance. Dodging, blobking and pushing is the name of the game. It's 90% of the key to survival. The other 10% is killing thing before they can kill you.
Second, more people around you, more people to kill. You regen toughness when people are around and when they die.
Evisc is your main weapon.
Light attack will mow down the horde.
Heavy attack will put down most of the specialist one shot. If you have time, you can rev it before doing a heavy. It will almost always assure you kill. Be aware that you will be locked on it for a couple second, but you can cancel it with a dodge. It got a good rubber band too, try reving then dodge-hit a mutant to kill it while he's going away. It's pretty fun.Bullwark are a pain. Kite them and dance until it tries to hit you. While he swings, it opens up it's defense. Dodge, rev and heavy. Repeat if necessary.
If you get over crowded, do light-light-push-repeat. It will give you space to operate.
The bolter is 99% of the time a mag dump situation. It's not a panic button. It's a "no! shit won't go down!" button. You can kill 3-4 crushers on Heresy with a mag if you aim well (head). A mixed horde of ragers, mauler and whatnot will NOT like your Bolter. Be aware that the reload time SUCK ASS. Find the right time to reload. Back a bit and take the time though. Bosses won't live long either if you aim weakspot. You are a boss killer and this is your weapon of death.Aimed down gives you a single shot experience. Can be good to pick long range target.
Fury of the faithfull is another tool you need to master. First it's a good way to get back 50% or 100% toughness.Second, it let you charge ennemies that are far from you. You can even lock on something far and just never stop (think about pre patch Halo2 sword lounge). USE IT to charge ennemies. You are an instrument of pain and heretics need to be dealt with. The fun thing with FotF is that it also stun ennemies. Keep that in mind and use it.You can also cancel the charge while keeping the benefits (just press backwards). Why you ask? Attack speed up is really nice on the Bolter. Not the best use, but it got it's time to shine. After triggering FotF, your next melee attack is gonna be a one hit wonder. FotF+Rev+Heavy is a good combo for a single target. When you can't Bolter up the boss, go blender mode on his ass.
Knives are REALLY good. It's your go to for medium/long range single target. Hit the face or it won't be as good. It's gonna be tough to start with but trust me, if you get good with it, it gonna save your ass a lot of time.
Remember, you are the Blender.
Good hunting, gentlemen.
