Description
This is a build I've been running with for a while. It's entirely things that I enjoy using: Weapons Specialist, Chainaxe, and Revolver.
There is a lot of flexibility here, so I'm going to point out the important bits and the things that you can change. I primarily use this build in Heresy, because I am not quite skilled enough for higher difficulties. You may find it does not work amazingly well in Aurics or high Havocs. (Do let me know if there are any tweaks you find helpful for those!)
Gameplay
Hordes:
- Shoot one of them.
- Swap to the Chainaxe to activate Melee Specialist.
- Swing until Melee Specialist runs out or the horde is dead.
- If the hordes is not dead, swap back to the Revolver and return to step 1.
Monstrosities: Bleed stacks from the Chainaxe work wonders, and the Revolver can do quite a number on them if you get weakspot hits. Don't forget your shredder grenades!
Specialists: Hipfire that Revolver, then swap to Chainaxe if they're close.
Mutants: Special mention for these guys because the Chainaxe is much more effective against them than the revolver.
Important Bits
Without these, it stops being this build, yeah?
- Weapons Specialist : I love this capstone. We're taking it for the guaranteed ranged crits, increased melee attack speed, and free reload.
- That means Trench Fighter Drill is very important!
- Chainaxe: This weapon is excellent against hordes and armored enemies. Bloodletter in particular makes it great against monstrosities! The blessings and perks are what I recommend, but you may find Thrust, Thunderous, or Slaughterer to work better for you. Or even Rev It Up! The Chainaxe really shines once you get some melee attack speed buffs going, which is why we depend on Weapons Specialist.
- Revolver: I prefer the Agripinaa Mk XIV Quickdraw Stub Revolver because of the fast reload and rapid fire rate. You can certainly use the Zarona Mk IIa Quickdraw Stub Revolver as well --- but consider that the Chainaxe is also really good against armored enemies! Hand-Cannon is more or less a must-have on every Revolver build. I like Run 'n' Gun for the massive accuracy buff. Crucian Roulette and Terrifying Barrage are also great choices. I would not take Surgical or Point Blank, because we get our crits from Weapons Specialist.
I'd also like to call out Out for Blood , Iron Will, and Demolition Stockpile as no-brainers that every Vet build will try to include. The first two are the cornerstone of Vet defenses, and the latter gives you 20 - 30 free grenades per mission.
Flexible Bits
These are things that, in my opinion, you can change to suit yourself without losing the core identity of this build.
- Voice of Command : Look, I love it to pieces, but I'll admit it's a bit overpowered and something of a crutch.
- Shredder Frag Grenade : More Bleed is more good, but maybe you'll like Krak or Smoke grenades more!
- Determined & Fully Loaded : These two are great QoL talents, but you may want to put these points elsewhere.
- Curios: Put whatever you like for these. I left 'em mostly blank for a reason!
- Orestes Mk XII Assault Chainaxe : I just happen to like this mark better. You may want to use the other one!
- Weapon Perks: I happen to like +Flak and +Carapace. You might like +Maniac or +Unyielding, especially for the Chainaxe. Or even +Stamina! Nothing wrong with that.
