From the top: We go through the right side because we get more general toughness; If we go through the middle, then we get more Toughness regen from specialists/elites but only those sources and not all kills. Frags are useful for any situation and are arguably Vet's best blitz; Survivalist being their best aura.Catch A Breath is funny because it actually procs on no damage taken, not just if targeted, so if you block or dodge, you are still getting bonuses.Demo Stockpile will be giving you a new one every 60 seconds so you can be liberal with throwing them. Precision Strikes is a fun talent because it affects both melee and ranged. On the bottom right side, those are talents which will enhance your melee abilities. After all this, we are left with a few flex points; Weapons Specialist encourages weapon swapping and gives you buffs on doing so, Focus Target! gives you bonuses for marking targets. I personally would use Focus Target! (FT) on the Lasgun. Shock Trooper is IF you use a lasgun, which you will take off if you are not.Target Down or Redirect Fire are both good nodes, but Focus Fire (8 stacks of FT) is not.For your Lasgun, Ghost is a massive QoL, and your second blessing can be one of a few choices:Headhunter - boosts overall damageFalter - Gives you extra stagger on headshotsOpening Salvo - First shot you make every like.. 2 seconds? Has increased Strength, which gives damage and stagger; This is actually very good on the Mark IX which is the slow firing oneCurios:
Stamina Regen is very good on Vet, since they get the worst regen speed of all classes. Toughness is better than Toughness Regen, because Toughness Regen only affects coherency regen, which is disabled in melee combat, which you will be doing as Veteran, regardless of whether you want to or not.
