This is a Voice of Command abusing, Krak Grenade throwing, Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun dumping, and Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe revving mad Commissar Build for Damnation, Aurics, Auric Maelstrom, and High Havoc.

This build has very HIGH clutch / carry potential. The reason I say potential is because you can’t be a bumbling shellshocked canon fodder Guardsman. You have to know how to answer to just about any scenario the game will spit you out into. You will be a a Jack-of-all-trades. Good at everything, Master of none. You shouldn’t have any situations where you find yourself feeling utterly helpless.

Short Overview:

  • With the Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun in this build you will be melting Weakened Monstrosities in around half a magazine. Full Monstrosities will take a full Mag, and depending on their remaining HP, one of two things: A few Krak Grenades to the Face, or a few Powered-up swings of the Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe.
  • You will have near infinite Krak Grenades at your disposal as long as you aren’t being stupid with your usage of them.
  • Laugh in the face of hordes of Poxwalkers and Groaners. Your Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun tears through their flesh with enough cleave to fire all the way back to the Morningstar, plus AoE stagger / suppression. For cleaning up tougher targets in the horde (or Hell even using it on the trash, have fun with it.) Use the amazingly destructive power of the Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe. It does a great job with Chunk Damage and general Horde clear, just stay on your toes and remember to Block and Dodge.
  • You are a Predator, Specialists are your prey. Use the Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun to snipe at them.

    In-Depth Gameplay:
  • You are John Commissar. Abusing Voice of Command to not only keep yourself alive, but your teammates. Giving your teammates an actual reason in their heads to be in unit coherency helps a lot with teamwork. (Goes for you too Knucklehead, stick with the group.) and that reason is: Golden Toughness. Golden Toughness makes it so your HP bar can’t receive chip damage through your toughness like normal. Pretty broken. Safe to say you want this active as much as you can. In come the Specialists! For the express purpose of allowing you to farm Tactical Awareness off of them! (Thanks to Demolition Team you will also have a chance of recovering even further grenades from this as well.)
  • Cower in fear of Dreg Ragers and Scab Ragers no longer! With the ripping power of the Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe a revved up attack should proc enough damage to kill the sucker in a few ticks. Though if you REALLY want them dead, swing at them a few times to play with your food before lighting up their world with a few full auto shots from you Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun, just remember to keep that puppy loaded!
  • Further Rager advice. When you find 3+ Ragers suddenly pouncing on you, one of the worst things to do it to turn around and run away. These mean druggies move FASTER when you’re not looking at them. Voice of Command is your best friend as it will stagger them, allowing your to rev up your Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe  and hopefully kill a manageable few. However if the situation is tight, simply start firing your Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun into the crowd of them after you stagger them and watch them turn into mist.
  • When facing Monstrosities ( Plague Ogryn, Chaos Spawn, and Beast of Nurgle.) Pop Voice of Command to trigger the Marksman talent. This is a key factor. This combo will stagger the beastie allowing you to get a bead on its weak point. Hold down the trigger and behold! The Beast is Dead! Chances are you’ll leave most other players surprised with how quick it goes.
  • After you’ve dumped your Bolter into their face and they’re still alive, what do you do? I’ll tell you. Chuck a sticky little Krak Grenade right at their squishy weak spot and watch the remaining HP get chunked.
  • This next bit is fairly important. Field Improvisation gives you CRAZY value with Med and Ammo crates. The main bonus we’re looking at is from Ammo crates with how it replenishes grenades. This will be perfect for dealing with the group of 6 perfectly silent crushers that spawned behind you ready to One-shot you.

    High Havoc Tips / Remarks:
  • Monstrosities won’t fall to your gunfire so easy anymore. You have to come to terms with this fact. But you WILL end up with the most Boss Damage done by the end of the mission. Any other Specialized class won’t really come close.

Weapon Perks / Blessings (Explainations and Potential Alternates!):

    Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe
  • Perks: Infested and Carapace are your best perk options for this weapon. You will be ripping and tearing through a LOT of Infested enemies in close quarters, especially with hordes in Aurics. (Or Infected Moebian 21st in Havoc Missions)
  • Blessings: Thrust and Slaughterer will be the Blessings here. Thrust is particularly good thanks to the Carapace Perk. A fully charged Thrust heavy attack will be enough to One-Shot enemies like Crushers and Scab Maulers. Slaughterer is very self explanatory. +40% Strength to each swing after just 5 kills? On TOP of the potential 60% strength from Thrust? Yes please.
  • Alternate Options: Now for the perks there aren’t a lot of actually… viable alternates. Flak and Maniac are not needed as you will reach the Breaking Points of those enemies without the weapon perks anyway. Unyielding is not a good choice either as the Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe does pissy Unyielding damage anyway. The perk won’t make much of a difference. Other weapons will be much more viable for Unyielding damage. However if you need to kill an Unyielding enemy, like a Reaper, then just aim for the head. Alternate Abilities is where we can play around a little bit. The next best Blessings Pair to go with is: Headtaker and Slaughterer. The pairing that these two make can get crazy and is much faster to set up than with Thrust. Headhunter will get you +25% Strength at its peak uptime, paired with +40% from Slaughterer, that means near consistent 65% strength. Now if you want to go more towards a bleed build, (The Chainaxe is a Khorne Weapon and Khorne requires blood), do Slaughterer and Bloodletter. Bloodletter with its bleed will make it so anything you don’t quite one shot will wither away within a few ticks.

    Locke Mk IIb Spearhead Boltgun:
  • Perks: Unyielding and Carapace are your best perk options for this weapon. Flak armor falls away with the piercing power that each bullet holds, as well as the following blessings making Flak all the more useless.
  • Blessings: Cavalcade and Shattering Impact reign SUPREME for this build. Remember, the main point of this build is to utterly and completely shred bosses to bits. What better way to do this than to strip away their armor with Shattering Impact, all the while scoring increasingly common critical hits as the bullet storm continues with Cavalcade. Any Monstrosity folds with very little resistance when put up with these perks against their weak spots.
