Introduction:
I was doing the penance of Auric Maelstorm Survivor, meanwhile I insist to only use pysker to do the penance, and eventually within a week after multiple times of failure, I discover this build with it maximize the survival at the same time deal considerable damages to elites and bosses.
Summary:
The two critical benefits from Scrier's Gaze is immue suppresion which like Veteran and Zealot they are not scare of surrounded or got isolated, also the skill itself will last very long when the mix tide of enermy because the active time extend based on the number of enemies you killed, 1 second per 1 up to 30 second with a 10 second extention and protection once 100% peril is reach. In such, many scene the skill is ready while it still last from the previous active. So this is the core for this omni build is surroud and extent from Scrier's Gaze and its branch.
Deal damages:
The main technique for this build to deal damages from close distance to mid-range is the blitz "Smite" and corporate with the keystone "Empower Psionics", never under estimate the 200% empower damage and 50% spread speed, when the keystone ready Smite is able to deal wide range of damages, even the lightning has distance to extend, but once it catches the first enemy then will spread until the end you wouldn't see, non elite enermy will dead within short time, and armor elites will be immobilize with 10% damage increase from all sources. In addition, Scrier's Gaze on active can largely increase the Smite time which provide prolonging crowd control, damage increase made by teammates, and continue of 200% smite empower damage, and the longest time can be 40 second non-stop smite. But 20 second is more than enough for you and your teammates to finish the battle in one scene.
Weapon Choice:
VoidStrike Staff is for Snipers and Gunners from far distance which Smite unable to reach, Wrap Flurry allows faster charge up and works well with Sustained Fire to face the Gunner team.
The Force Greatsword is more about protection to self and anti-bosses. Because this build has no Telekine Shield, so we need the Greatsword Deflector to block long range attack and it also increase the effectiveness to block melee attact, and momentum is for toughness restores when surrounded by enemy also deal with emergency situation such as during the cooldown period of Scrier's Gaze and peril is 100%, so you can block and restore toughness and fight until peril cooldown for the next smite and void staff.
Anti-boss is very straight forward, activite Scrier's Gaze and Greatsword heavy attack, this is useful against any boss without taken much damages. But the priority is to help teammates to clear out the mix enermy before rushing to the boss.
Conclusion:
I started playing Darktide since the beginning of this year. Based on my experience (300 hours) on playing psyker since the spring time, recent days I been playing Auric Maelstorm with random team for achieving the Auric penances. Meanwhile never team up with any player specifically and with all random players, therefore I tried not to rely on my teammates too much "because you never know a level 30 newbie or an experienced level 30 player is in your team, and you also not sure how frequently they got knock down", so this is the omni build I founded and it covers from increase survival rate, does crowd control and deal damange at the same time.
