Talent Tree: Start by getting the zealot's "holy trinity" of Scourge (increased crits), Enduring Faith (Toughness dmg reduction on crit), and Second Wind (Toughness regen on dodge). This build is focused on FAST movement, dodges, and agile combat. Thy Wrath Be Swift, Good Balance, and Duellist are also fairly important for this playstyle.
Blades of Faith will be our Blitz ability, and will act as a second ranged weapon for quickly eliminating nearby trappers, flamers, and even snipers and bombers once you get it's throwing arc down.
Until Death and Holy Revenant will keep you in the fight if things go south, essentially allowing a collosal screw up every two minutes. Benediction will be our chosen Aura, and increase our defenses.
Now we get to the critical (pun intended) part: Fury of the Faithful. This Ability guarantees a crit on activation and is just overall extremely fun to use.
Moving down and right we will grab Faithful Frenzy and Sustained Assault for more combat efficiency. Then we go and grab Invocation of Death for cooldown reduction, and our Keystone: Blazing Piety and its modifier Stalwart for increased Crits and more defenses, respectively.
Alterations: You can drop Good Balance and Stalwart to take Fury Rising and Righteous Warrior, trading two defensive skill tree choices with two offensive ones to maximize your DPS.

Gear: This crit based build is fairly flexible in weapon selection, but I personally find the Tactical Axes to be incredibly efficient, offering very good versatility along with incredible speed and mobility (which is ironically their dump stat*). Every variant is Auric/Havoc viable, with version VII only slightly standing out as the "best." Choose the one that feels best to you. Perks should be Carapace and then Flak/Maniac/Unyielding depending on your preference. Keep in mind that Flak is one of the most common armor types. The tac axes have a few solid blessings, but Headtaker is a no-brainer (sorry, not sorry), and Shred, along with your talent tree selections will get you a whopping 60+ % crit chance in heavy combat. Best of all, Tac Axe usage is very simple: Spam speedy light attacks 'til everything is dead.
Other viable options include: The Combat Blades (more single target focused than the tac axes, but similarly functioning), Dueling Swords (Mk 4 is objectively the most powerful melee option in the game currently, with Mk 2 also ranking high), Heavy Eviscerator (preferably the mk 15, with the shred blessing).
For Ranged we will choose between the two heaviest options the zealot has. The Flamer (Hordes, mixed packs of Elites, gradual Monstrosity damage) or the Bolter (Crushers, Bulwarks, quick Monstrosity damage). Choose depending on what role your group needs most. Both of these weapons have very slow pull out times, so use your throwing knives to respond to surprise threats outside of melee range.
*the difference between 60 and 80 mobility on most weapons is nearly indistinguishable, so it is the most common weapon dump stat.
