Main Idea
The Bound By Duty update brought us a significant nerf to nearly every passive cooldown-reducing ability in the game. Moreover, now as a Zealot we can't pick Invocation of Death together with Pious Cut-Throat, which previously allowed us to reduce cooldown of a Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude by a huge amount. This build tries to address this problem and the idea is pretty simple and not new - we will rise our Critical Hit Chance and use a weapon with fast attack speed (mostly) for the sake of "fishing" for those critical hits. This will allow us to keep a good uptime of Invocation of Death which in return will give us an opportunity to use Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude more often.
Atrox Mk VII Tactical Axe
Light attack spam: L1 > L2 > L3 > Repeat
Single target overheads: L1 > H2 > Block cancel > Repeat
Horde clearing: Push attack > H1 > L2 > Repeat
Single target stagger: Special attack
Honestly, you can just use light attacks in almost any situation and you will be fine. Remember that our main goal is to proc critical hits, that's why a fast attacking combo is ideal. Any attack chain that include heavy attacks may not be as reliable in terms of Invocation of Death uptime. As a side note, in my opinion, in high Havocs it is better to focus on your (and your teammates) surroundings and positioning, rather than some fancy attack patterns. Aim for the heads and weakspots to benefit from Brutal Momentum. With all buffs active, our Critical Hit Chance reaches 72% which is just 3% less than with a knife.
Artemia Mk III Purgation Flamer
This is your tool:
- to help your team deal with large groups of armored enemies;
- to apply Penetrating Flame Brittleness stacks to the boss to help your teammates kill it faster;
- to help in situations when your team is "drowning" in melee chaff for some reason.
When you find yourself in the scenarios mentioned above, just switch to the flamer and burn the whole thing down with a continuous stream of fire. Anoint in Blood and Blaze Away will help a lot with that. After emptying the flamer (or reaching maximum of Brittleness and Burning stacks on the enemies) don't waste time reloading it, but instead swiftly move to the melee frontline and use Chorus of Spiritual Fortitude to heal up your team, CC the enemies and further increase the damage output of the team with Ecclesiarch's Call. Remember not to overuse the flamer, and ideally you shouldn't pick up any ammo at all.
