Description
GAMEPLAY
So, the main purpose of this class is to SUPPORT your team, and lock down hordes/elites while the rest of your team cuts through them like butter. You will have insane smite times, often times stopping horde surges and ambushes before they start even if they are led by crushers and maulers. Large groups of ragers are rendered impotent and vulnerable to slaughter. And when you get a stack or three of empowered psionics you will be clearing hordes all on your own within seconds even frying gunners, shot gunners, dogs, trappers, bombers, and poxbursters with ease.
The staff is mainly used to stagger enemies when you’re not faced with large hordes, but it can easily deal with large groups of weak trash enemies.
Finally the sword is used for dealing with tougher enemies when shit starts to hit the fan and you need to give yourself some breathing room, or if you are just dealing with light resistance.
BUILD MECHANICS
We are using Deimos Mk IV Blaze Force Sword to deal with tough enemies, the special skill will 1 shot most and queue you up for a critical to finish them off bc of Bloodthirsty. Using the mkIV bc of its single target attacks, we’re using staff or smite to deal with hordes. You also have Warp Expenditure to help keep you alive while your dealing with those problem enemies. Uncanny Strike for some extra damage.
Rifthaven Mk II Inferno Force Staff will net you a lot of toughness replenishment bc of Soulstealer and Souldrinker not to mention the ever present Quietude, that’s not all, a nice 2.5% per second from scriers gaze while that’s active. You also have Penetrating Flame to soften up flak and carapace armored enemies and Terrifying Barrage for a little extra breathing room for close quarters staff usage. The staff is purely for CC. It is not the main tool of this build.
Since this is a Smite build we are taking SMITE! Take both abilities, Charged Strike will help take down tough enemies and stack nicely with our critical follow up attack after using our powered up weapon skill.
For coherencey we are taking Seer's Presence and right after that Psykinetic's Aura, these will make sure our scarier gaze is ALWAYS off cooldown and read to use whenever.
Peril generation is reduced as much as possible in this build we’re taking Battle Meditation, Reality Anchor, and Empyric Resolve. I’m not taking By Crack of Bone bc it’s too far off the path and I feel like it’s not quite relevant to smite/ inferno force staff. Normally you will be able to smite and lock down an entire horde for quite a long time, and in the beginning of scriers gaze activation you can last even longer with boosted damage. Solidity and Reality Anchor will make sure you will be able to quell quickly and make sure you last 30 seconds in scriers gaze to get the maximum dmg bonus, and Warp Unbound makes sure you don’t blow up when you hit 100 peril.
As for damage, Scrier's Gaze is more of an engine to get us to 100% peril with max dmg stacks and bonuses from Empowered Psionics, taking Charged Up and Bio-Lodestone. Smite will be empowered MOST of the time. Warp Rider will boost our damage at 100% peril, coupled with scriers gaze maximum stacks, you get 20%+30% damage increase + the 200% dmg increase from Empowered Psionics, you’ve got a HUGE dmg boost capable of clearing an entire horde in seconds. Mind in Motion lets you quell without slowing down which I find more valuable than Vulnerable Minds since this build really about dealing with monstrosities but rather giving your team space to take it down by clearing/locking down hordes. Up to you on that one, they are relatively interchangeable imo.
