Introduction

This build is my default Auric/Auric Maelstrom loadout. It's by no means a "meta" but it will allow you to pull off consistent high damage and anti-elites/specialist capabilities, all while being highly survivable and rewarding. 

What This Class Is

This loadout is a strong, all-around solid DPS preset with decent survivability that's relatively easy to play. That said, this is a selfish loadout that does depend on killing as many marked enemies as possible to upkeep your buffs and reduce cooldowns. This build maximizes both melee and ranged weaponry simultaneously which allows for more engaging gameplay.

What This Class Isn't

This class has not been tested in Havoc assignments; your mileage may vary. This class does not play well with others that depend on marking targets and/or team play. As mentioned, this class is a "selfish" class for killing everything marked.

How to Use This Build

To maximize this build is pretty straightforward:

  1. Prioritize enemies marked by Execution Order (purple); this will allow you to maintain your lower right-hand tree's buffs and directly results in Break the Line's quick cooldown.
  2. Spam Break the Line as frequently as possible due to the fact it has a very, very short cooldown (<15-20 seconds if swinging into a horde and targeting marked enemies simultaneously). This not only stuns elites/specialists around you but also improves your swing speed for a time which means you kill things faster, ergo it's easier to maintain your buffs.
  3. Use Remote Detonation whenever surrounded and/or against concentrated groups of enemies. This will open you up to Break the Line and blasting with your shotgun. (Bonus: Use against bosses to stun if backed into a corner)
  4. Kite hordes when possible, to prevent being surrounded and as a general best practice.
