Havoc 40 | Vet | 1M Smoke "Bubble" Las' Support
 Veteran Build - Warhammer 40k: Darktide 

HAVOC 40 | SMOKE "BUBBLE" LAS SUPPORT

Here is my H40 build I use to run a "Bubble Las Vet". I use this build to hard counter hard, wide open, and long hallway maps. 

This allows Vet to run max support with great ammo economy, Special/Elite Killing, and Boss killing. 

Just to see how this would stack up I tested this with friends on Enclavum Baross with all 3 friends running max damage Crusher/Exterminator/Dog Arby, Shrieking Flame Psyker, and Pickaxe Ogryn. I still managed to hit 1M damage, and lead boss damage.

SMOKES OVER BUBBLE?! KRAKS?! SHREDDERS?! WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?!?!

What phrase do you hear when you think of the maps Silo Cluster, Chasm Terminus, Cladestium Gloriana, Cosignment Yard, and Dark Communiion? 

Hard. 

Why? Large open areas, and long narrow hallways. This is a gunner heaven. These maps also expose Bubble's sole weakness: it can get melted in seconds.

Guess what can't be shot to death? Smoke bubbles.

This build hard counters these maps to the point of comedy. Run this on Silo Cluster and the first and last 1/3 stretches will be laughably simple.

BTW, what makes the same aforementioned maps easy against Rotten and Stims? Large open areas you can kite in. Guess what you can't take with you? Your Bubble. But you can kill them and relocate between smokes.

And with nade refill and regen, you can have 4-5 smokes active move in-between and by the time the next fight have another 2-3 ready to go.

BUILD CONSIDERATIONS

MELEE

• DS4 is still S Tier. Carapace, Unyielding, Thrust and Uncanny.

RANGE

• A few different builds here:
  • Accatran Recon Lasgun XIV
    • +5% Crit Chance, Unyielding, Infernus, (Dumdum -OR- Headhunter)
  • Accatran Recon Lasgun XII. 
    • +5% Crit Chance, Unyielding, Dumdum, (Punishing Salvo -OR- Sustained Fire)

CURIOS

• +17% Toughness - Combat Ability, Stamina Regen, Gunner Resist
• +17% Toughness - Combat Ability, Stamina Regen, Revive Speed
• +3 Stamina -OR- +17% Toughness - Combat Ability, Revive Speed, Gunner Resist

2 +17% Toughness, and a +3 Stamina is my default for Veteran. The DS4 can get by without a +3 Stamina. 

H40 TIPS

A few tips when playing the character

• Frontlining & Advancement - Your team will be following you around. Basically, where you'd drop the Bubble, or want to cut off Gunners from is where you will throw the Smoke. Also, these things last a whopping 30 seconds. In addition, you have nade regen from 60 seconds as well as kills. Always try to keep 2-3 on hand when a fight starts.

   

   

• Target Prioritization - If any enemy keeps firing, eliminate those first. Then be scanning through the smoke and eliminate Specials as they come through. Your teammates will fight in peace. 

• Boss Fights - Wait for 4 stacks, mark the boss, and start melting with your Recon Lasgun.

• Clutch Revives - Smoke the downed teammate, Shout+Sprint+Slide to begin the reviving animation should work in most situation with the +20% revive speed. Just be aware if they are stun immune.
