Description
Hyper-Violence gives us 25% of our overkill damage for 1 second. We can maximize this either by increasing our damage or swinging faster (so we get 2 or possibly 3 swings in the 1 second duration). This build mostly is about trying to hit harder, though it does get respectable attack speed too.
Melee Weapon Choice
- Orestes Mk IV Assault Chainaxe is the weapon showcased here and is probably the second-best fit
- Rashad Mk III Combat Axe is probably the best fit for pushing damage to maximize hyper-violence.
- Heavy Swords are good too, due to brutal heavies with good cleave (though they're lackluster against Crushers)
- Chainswords (though these are the worst fit in terms of trying to push raw damage, they attack fast so they'll still work)
Our Stimm focuses on Rending (Fury II ) and we pick up Channelled Aggression so during most of Rampage! we have even better rending, which helps while cleaving mixed hordes with armor (which is something we often want to do in order to maximize the damage of Hyper-Violence -- we really want to get kills with big overkill, turning that overkill into base weapon damage, and then cleaving it into other targets (ideally overkilling them too, resulting in ever-increasing damage until the horde thins; armor is one of the few things that can stop this).
We've skipped The Sweet Spot because for the Chain Axe we're heavy-cleaving more than our other attacks, and it's unusually hard to land weakspot hits with that swing. But if you went with one of the other weapons, I would strongly recommend this talent.
Because this is an Adrenaline Frenzy build we don't have cooldown reduction to Rampage! , and we also have a long-ish Stimm cooldown, so just be aware of when all your abilities are on cooldowns and avoid getting into more trouble than you can handle til they come back. (Infinite-ammo Needle Pistol is great for these situations. You'll still be eliminating key targets, just from a safer distance.)
