Description
Your primary role is horde-clear with the Turtolsky which includes looking for situations where you can charge into Ranged enemies to tie them up in melee so they stop shooting your team (and you).
Your secondary role is special-killing with the Revolver.
Fury of the Faithful. Guarantees a crit for Scourge to cause bleeding and additional hits to give you +10% crit buff (so you can keep the bleed+crit cycle alive by hitting multiple targets so there's always some bleeder alive to refresh your crit buff with). Restores 50% toughness, so you can use it reactively when taking a hit if you want to stay high toughness. Also lets you dash to melee with ranged enemies (ideally before they start firing, because if they hit you they can potentially interrupt your charge -- especially Gunners).
Martyrdom. A high wound count is a big part of this build as Martyrdom ramps to +24% attack speed and +48% melee damage. For most players let Martyrdom happen naturally; meaning don't intentionally stay hurt unless you're regularly making it between medicae without taking any significant HP damage.
Martyr's Purpose. Just by being low HP, your cooldown is accelerated (so Fury of the Faithful charges come back faster).
Stun grenades. These are for reviving teammates and disabling the biggest of ranged/elite packs. Try not to use multiple nades in any given fight, and don't waste them just because the horde is a little big (unless there are also lots of specials in the horde and you're worried things will destabilize).
Melee
- Turtolsky Mk VII is what I use because Heavy 1 is a cleave which let me immediately trigger the 7.5% toughness talent
- Turtolsky Mk IX is historically what I've liked more because Heavy 1 is an overhead, so you have an immediate good attack against elites
- However any Turtolsky works nowadays, because the special attack stagger is good enough to stop most elites in their tracks. (Just be wary of packs of elites.) It's not a great weapon for killing maniacs, but as long as your special lands before their attacks you'll have them stun locked and it simply won't matter.
- Devil's Claw Swords are also a viable alternative melee.
Ranged
- Revolver staggers almost everything, so if you're overwhelmed by elites don't be afraid to use it.
- Laspistol is another viable alternative. It doesn't help stagger elites like Revolver does, but it's lightning fast and low recoil, making it even better against specials. And against non-carapace targets it's got some pretty solid damage nowadays.
