Description

The stamina aura (zealous) lets you constantly reset attack chains on the crusher with push attacks, its best attack. Even though the crusher is not the fastest hoard clearing weapon, it has high unyielding/boss damage, and it's very safe due to naturally pushing all the time, with long range and high stagger.

Your role is to initiate by suppressing enemies (esp gunners) with chorus, stagger stuff for your backline, and apply skullcrusher.

Weapons

Both Crusher marks are great. For perks, choose between unyielding/flak/carapace. Power output (over defenses) is the dump stat for both marks to use less stamina on push attacks.

Indignatus: More combo and spacing reliant, but both heavies are more naturally accessible from anywhere in the combo chain. Light spam is worse than the Krourk for hoard clear, more reliant on the wide heavy. Spammable special makes it better for spreading debuffs and vs Bulwarks. Feels slightly faster.

Krourk: Better light attacks, spammable and thus easier to use. CD on special makes it worse vs Bulwarks, but it does more damage and can stagger some bosses. Its strikedown heavy loop does a lot of damage, but somewhat slow and awkward to access. The Light attack after a slide is actually the push attack, which is great.

Blessings:

- Always take Skullcrusher, then either

- Hammerblow for noticeably better stagger breakpoints and thus more Skullcrusher. Does basically nothing vs bosses, but you have chorus to stagger them.

- Or Slaughterer for mixed hoard clear, but it only applies on kill with a short refresh window so it won't help as much vs carapace and bosses. The more damage you do the better Slaughterer is, and using chorus will drop your stacks. Consider taking Slaughterer if not using chorus.

Ranged: Game currently throws lots of specials at you. I like the recon lasgun 12 since it's extremely mag and ammo efficient with burn, lets you stack blazing piety from afar, and deal with longer range threats your knives can't reach. Alternatives include the bolt pistol (take Lethal Proximity as a blessing), laspistol, huntsman shotgun, agri combat shotgun, boltgun, or flamer (take the Annoint in Blood talent). The flamer will significantly jack up your damage numbers, but you will very much need ammo.

Crusher Marks and Combos (reset with push attack (PA) anytime):

Indignatus

Hoard 1: PA -> (heavy -> light, loop)

Hoard 2: PA -> (light spam), better when you have slaughterer

Single 1: PA -> (light -> heavy, loop)

Single 2: (PA -> light, loop)

Krourk

Hoard 1: PA -> (light spam) better when you have slaughterer

Hoard 2: PA -> (light -> heavy, loop) more crowd control

Single 1: PA -> (heavy -> heavy, loop)

Single 2: PA -> light -> light -> (heavy -> heavy, loop)

PA aside, the gist is, on the Indignatus, you want to get into the appropriate (light -> heavy) loop for either single target or hoard clear. On the Krourk, ideally you strikedown heavy spam for single target, or light spam for hoard. PA is the same on both weapons, but on the Krourk it's less necessary to spam.

Nodes (RIP stagger nodes)

Flex nodes: holy cause, duellist, infectious zeal, shield of contempt, thy wrath be swift. Yes Shield of Contempt does not proc on toughness damage, it's still very solid.

Alt notes: 10% melee, no respite, blinded by blood, annoint in blood, voice of terra, prime target, master's retribution, out of pocket, retaliatory defense

Curios

At least 1 stamina regen perk, rest is personal preference.

Auras

Alt Aura: If corruption modifier, take beacon of purity, no respite, and consider retaliatory defense, which seems like a meme node but it basically guarantees revives and prevents block breaks, which can happen with push attack spam.

Tips:

Hit weakspots

If the game goes smoothly, you won't be topping the damage charts. If you are your team sucks.

Wide Heavy has higher stagger, Overhead heavy has higher damage

Use the special to initiate, open bulwarks and apply aoe debuffs.
