Description
If you could generate 67% toughness (and another 60% total for the squad) frequently and with only a single button press... why wouldn't you?
DEUS EX MACHINA - The Adeptus Mechanicus Genetor (squad support)
"The idealistic who espouse the Primus Humanum believe in the divine purity of the human form. Those who believe adversity breeds strength are like a gibbering fool who unknowingly speaks the truth but one day out of a thousand. Those who try to graft the strength of iron to cover over the weakness of impure flesh are as the blind stumbling into the light of dawn.
The body is neither pure nor impure. It is the naked clay from which we sculpt a divine weapon: incorruptible, ageless, and irrepressible."
-- Excerpt taken from the final word and testament of Magos Biologis Magnus Lucius Aureus.
THE BUILD CONCEPT
This build is like a Shout Veteran if they had a far less powerful shout that they could perform far more frequently.
Many people will create a Skitarius that is a powerful front-liner or a devastating ranged attacker. This particular build moves away from the predictable norms and is designed to function essentially as a Squad Toughness Generator and a back-stop against sudden team wipes in any averagely composed squad.
The Genetor fills an important and refreshingly different team support role by pumping out both decent bursts of toughness as well as providing a slow yet consistent toughness gen in addition to the squad coherency buff from their aura.
They can also engage in combat decently in both melee and ranged, although this is not their forte, while easily completing objectives and helping up downed/netted/captured teammates thanks to their servo-skull assistant.
The Branx Mk III Arc Maul is there to simply arrest the advance of crusher packs or metal ragers etc, to help your friends out in a pinch. Along with Voltaic Emitter and System Shock , this is fairly effective.
HOW IT WORKS
Based on my own playtesting even at higher difficulties, this is an incredibly tanky build that allows you various ways to generate and recover your own toughness at godly rates both in an emergency (to save yourself and recover rapidly from broken toughness) as well as rescuing squadmates when you see them starting to lose toughness.
They function essentially in the same capacity as a 'toned down' Shout Veteran however what they lack in peak output of toughness gen (no gold toughness here!) they make up for in spades thanks to how often they can keep pumping out toughness. There is no real cooldown beyond your own management of Capacitance but allies will benefit even if you step in to heal their broken toughness by firing off Voltaic Emitter using a mere 1 charge!
Toughness generation happens thanks to numerous nodes and is farmed out to allies thanks to Power Overflow
The Branx Mk IV Arc Rifle can be fired at enemies (using braced mode only to increase the leaps of arc lightning) which triggers both capacitance and toughness regen.
Even if the Genetor takes damage in combat, this triggers Kinetic Energy Distributors which has the potential to restore broken toughness instantly in the worst scenario or pass along toughness generation to your allies depending on the situation.
Thanks to Voltaic Overcharge , Voltaic Restoration , Omnissian Recharge Litany (if you hit 3+ enemies with Voltaic Emitter ), and Entropic Transfer , this means that the AdMech Genetor can potentially generate themselves 67% or more toughness at the single press of a button! That comes as an instantaneous boost of 45% toughness plus the remaining 22% arriving over the next four seconds.
On top of this, each ally in coherency receives 20% toughness which gives the single button press a potential squad value of more than 127% toughness just by pressing one button. And you can do it again very very soon!
This figure is potentially EVEN HIGHER if Power Redistribution Uplink can proc on crits from Voltaic Emitter which I'm not sure about right now.
To add to the squad value of this class, both the Genetor and their squadmates receive toughness whenever they receive health damage (thanks to Data Sensor Protocol) as long as they are together in coherency. Another reason to stick together! The strongest benefit to this is that this means that if an ally maintains squad unity with the Genetor, thanks to both Data Sensor Protocol and Resurgence , it will be far more unlikely for them to be caught off-guard by the enemy with broken toughness and toughness regeneration. Smashed toughness will instantly be repaired and start regenerating ... as long as this isn't happening more than every 15 seconds (in which case, May the Emperor Protect). I have personally managed to fight an armoured horde solo in a small room thanks to the persistence and tankyness of this build.
This isn't the flashiest build but it is the medic that doesn't leave a flesh bag behind. With the immovable object of the Magos Biologis around, those squishy inferior meat sacks suddenly tend to stop dying so much.
