Looking to give the heretics whiplash? Well look no further.

This build is for those who are looking to play the Psyker a little differently. Not a slow, squishy, backline caster, but instead a fast, self-reliant assassin.

Overview:

Starting with the primary weapon, select the Mk IV Dueling Sword. This sword rewards clean, precise weak spot hits and provides incredible mobility, something this build relies on. When it comes to stats, mobility can be your dump stat. We don't want to be just fast, we want to be fast and lethal. Perks can be of your choosing, but I find Flak Armor and Maniac has been working well. For Blessings, I highly suggest Riposte and Uncanny Strike. Riposte will greatly increase your critical chance for a good chunk of time after dodging an attack, and Uncanny Strike will make dispatching armored enemies much easier.

When using the sword, always aim for the head if you can. If your target is of the stronger variety, use the heavy attack. Heavy weakspot hits with this sword chew through healthbars.

Optionally, if you want to have a little bit more fun and a little less meta, you could opt for the Catachan MK III Combat Blade. This gives the build a little more of an assassin feel. Mobility is identical aside from increased dodge distance and better stamina efficiency. If you do end up preferring the Combat Blade, I recommend the same perks as the sword, but for blessings, swap out Riposte for Flesh Tearer. This blessing will make it a LOT easier to deal with bosses and bigger healthbar enemies because it gives 8 stacks of bleed on critical hits (max 16). This is huge because we get criticals in Scrier's Gaze, statistically, every two strikes.

For the secondary weapon, pick up the Quickdraw Stub Revolver: Zarona. The secret sauce of the Zarona is its penetrative capabilities and insanely high damage output. This thing can easily cleave a bullet through multiple gunners in a line. Mobility can be your dump stat for this weapon as well. For perks, I'm sticking with Flak Armor and Maniacs damage buff. For blessings, I recommend Hand-Canon and Surgical. Hand-Canon grants +60% rending on critical hit, which will obliterate any armor in the bullet's path. Surgical increases your critical chance while aiming by 10% every 0.3 seconds, stacking up to 10 times. Do the math, and that's a 100% critical chance after only 3 seconds.

All your curios contribute to keeping you alive, just in different ways. All three should have combat ability regen, because we will want to be in this state as often as possible, and ally revive speed, as quicker ally revives ensure you don't stay in one place longer than necessary. The first two should also have +Toughness (main), and resistance to gunners. Resistance to gunners keeps you alive while you're on the run. Your third curio's main slot should have +3 max stamina (main), and stamina regeneration. Higher stamina and regen speeds keep you on the move.

Blitz: Assail. This is going to be your hoard clear or hoard softener to make the groups easier to deal with.

Aura: Prescience. The primary goal of this build is to proc as many critical and weak spot hits as possible. This is an assassin build, and even that flat +5% crit rate is huge.

Combat Ability: Scrier's Gaze. This combat ability is basically a Psyker's "god mode". It increases damage, crit rate, weak spot damage, speed... you get the idea.

Combat Loop Example: A poxwalker hoard is approaching, along with a rager. First course of action is to eliminate the elite from a safe distance if possible using the Zarona revolver. Then, spam Assail shards to thin the hoard numbers. Lastly, pop Scrier's Gaze, bringing peril back down to, or just above 0%. From there, eliminate remaining targets with your Dueling Sword.

Talent Point Selection:

  1. Quietude: Replenish toughness with peril generation and/or quelling.
  2. Battle Meditation: Chance to quell peril on kills, and -10% peril generation overall.
  3. Mettle: Replenish toughness on critical hits & boosts movement speed on critical hits.
  4. Perfect Timing: Grants +3% damage for 10s on critical hit (again, we will get often), stacks 5 times. Potential of +15% damage on all attacks.
  5. Toughness Boost (required)
  6. Assail: Used for hoard clearing and creating breathing room. Because of this, we want the shards to pierce as many targets as possible and recharge as fast as possible. This gives us the ability to thin numbers first, strike with our sword, and if needed, swap again to assail to thin more numbers while repositioning.
  7. Ethereal Shards: With Assail being our mid-range hoard clearing, we want the shards to pierce as many targets as possible
  8. Quick Shards: Simple, you don't have to wait for eternity to get your hoard-clear kit back.
  9. Toughness Damage Reduction (required)
  10. Lightning Speed: Provides +10% melee speed, allowing us to dispatch heretics even quicker.
  11. By Crack of Bone: Quells 10% peril with every weakspot kill and reduces peril gen by 20% for 4s after. Very helpful for keeping Scrier's Gaze active.
  12. Critical Chance Boost: +5% (Required)
  13. Prescience: Yet another +5% crit chance, for you and allies in coherency (crits are going to be popping left and right, my friend)
  14. Psykinetic's Aura: Greatly increases Scrier's Gaze cooldown upon elite or specialist death within coherency.
  15. One with the Warp: Increases toughness resistance, scaling with peril level. Higher peril means higher resistance.
  16. Toughness Boost: +25% toughness (required)
  17. Scrier's Gaze: Grants +10% damage, +20% crit chance, +10% weakspot damage, +20% toughness damage reduction, suppression immunity, AND replenishes 2.5% toughness per second. On top of that, each second you're in Scrier's Gaze, gain yet another +1% damage, up to +30%, which lingers for 10s after leaving Scrier's Gare.
  18. Warp Speed (SG Modifier): While in SG, gain +20% movement speed.
  19. Reality Anchor (SG Modifier): We want to be in Scrier's Gaze for as long as possible once we pop it. Reality Anchor achieves this by reducing peril buildup by 20% and increasing quelling by 30%. This 30% quell boost applies to all sources, meaning By Crack of Bone's -10% peril per weakspot hit gains that +30% modifier.
  20. +10% Melee Damage Boost (required)
  21. +1 Stamina (required)
  22. +10% Ranged Damage (required)
  23. Puppet Master: Increases Coherency Aura: Prescience by +75%. This is crucial for talent point #12, as it means that elites and specialist that are killed further away from you will now count for Psykinetic's Aura, giving you Scrier's Gaze even quicker.
  24. Warp Rider: Grants up to +20% damage, based on peril level. The higher it is the stronger we are. This is very convenient to pair with Scrier's Gaze, which continuously builds peril until 100%.
  25. Warp Ghost: -80% passive quelling, +2 stamina, and +25% toughness replenishment from all sources. That -80% passive quelling sounds annoying, right? Until you remember the effects of By Crack of Bone! The -80% quelling only applies to passive quelling (quelling that happens naturally over time). By Crack of Bone does not care about that -80%, meaning your melee weakspot kills will be more than enough to bring you back down for Assail. Also, that +25% toughness replenishment? This buff applies to all sources, including Scrier's Gaze, ally coherency (which has improved radius from Puppet Master), and the couple we grabbed up at the top.
  26. Kinetic Deflection: While below critical peril, blocked attacks increase peril instead of depleting stamina. Not only does this keep us safer for longer, but also makes us stronger due to Warp Rider's effect!
  27. +5% Movement Speed (required and, hello, yes please!)
  28. Disrupt Destiny: This, paired with Scrier's Gaze, is absolutely nuts for an assassin build such as this. One enemy within 40m will get marked, constantly, and killing them replenishes 25% toughness (boosted by Warp Ghost!) and grants +20% movement speed for 2.5s. 2.5s doesn't sound like a lot of time, but there will always be a marked enemy in range, so you can just keep targeting the marked enemy and have these buffs constantly. Each marked kill also grants a precision bonus that stacks 15 times. Each stack grants +1% damage (up to +15%), +2% Critical Damage (up to +30%), and +2.5% Weakspot Damage (up to 37.5%). Stacks deteriorate one at a time every 5s, but with how many marked kills we're getting, those stacks will always be up!
  29. Lingering Influence: If that 5s timer is too much pressure, this perk increases the duration from 5s to 10s per stack, guaranteeing you keep these buffs permanent.
  30. Cruel Fortune: The cherry on top. Weakspot kills (which are super easy to get with the Dueling Sword), grant 2 additional stacks of Disrupt Destiny. This means, assuming our swordplay is precise, each marked kill will generate 3 stacks, maximizing our stacks after only 5 marked kills!

I hope this guide was helpful! Who knows? I might come out with a video on the build on my YouTube channel: @SteeKazee Plays
